just finished it. I know I'm late to the party...but I was generally pleased by the ending. Based on most of the signals from the journey, I thought the Crucible wouldn't work and biotics were screwed regardless. But Shepard had to make some sort of sacrifice (my was destroying the relays/synthetics) and the player didn't really have a choice.
An entire trilogy that helped revolutionize choice/consequence-based decisions in games that ultimately doesn't let you 'choose' the ending? Genius
It's all about preference. This is a FPS generation and the 360 controller is far more suited for this type of gameplay. The triggers just feel more natural and satisfying compared to a bumper(R1) firing button. Not to mention the 360 controller molds into my hands better.
Well I was enjoying the single player campaign very much until the game glitched on me not allowing me to proceed to the next level. It seems during the Iron Maiden robot level, after I sacrifice the dude to launch the missile, it won't let me launch the missile. I tried restarting the PS3 and campaign and the glitch resumed...
Combine that with the multiplayer essentially not connecting 80% of the time and you've got a solid 3/10 game. Very dissapointing...
just picked it up. Could care less about the reviews... and they seem to be mostly positive at this point.
bleehum
So, how much less could you care?
wat. To answer you're vague question (I think).. I bought the game regardless of the reviews, BUT they seem mostly positive, which gives me a little faith in mankind.
Yup. TM fans know what to expect here. New guns, graphics, vehicles, and maps, with the same carnage. I remember the days when this franchise didn't draw such a niche crowd.
rumbalumba
well it was supposedly a niche game. i mean, back in 1995 was there a car combat game before Twisted Metal that sold well or was popular? i mean there were car combat games but they werent popular at all. so in that context it was a niche game. but of course, when it came out it exploded and sold millions.
Right... niche game, but not niche crowd. It just seems like their finally trying to bring back a TM Black-quality to the franchise after the multiple abortions following TM 2, and barely anyone is interested.
This thread has over 400 posts now and it still hasn't been sticked.

Please no more sticky's  :P
I'm sure this'll be heavily bumped when it.... FLOPS
I think you're trying to shake the trees of the wrong community, my friend. Most folks posting up in this topic just want a new TM game. Forget the score - time to run people over. With gun cars.

Only a select few gamestops are doing the release. The closest midnight release to me is 40 miles away.
Sony is so god-awful at marketing...
Seriously, if this wasn't such an old franchise people would have no idea it was coming out tomorrow.
QFT. For some reason it seems Sony has no faith in this installment. The demo screams otherwise... The real question, is whether the car-combat genre (if there is one outside TW) still generates decent interest.
