Agree with the last sentence. Microsoft have already confirmed that you need online connectivity, but wouldn't state clearly what this was for as they also said gamers could play offline. This is exactly because of the reasons given above. The HD install, then no disc required, will be coupled with regular online verification requirements. Although you can technically play a game offline, it seems this will be after having to be online. Along with the used game "fee" issue, Microsoft have a lot of explaining to do, because right now they are losing the PR battle in a massive way. Stop the spin and make things clear, otherwise you look like you are hiding something!!!
Thanks, Tom. Simple, clearly expressed opinion that is shared by many, many gamers. I buy plenty of games new, but will also purchase pre-owned games. For me, there is a clear link between buying a used game and loving it, then getting the sequel or next game by that developer new. I also trade in games to get credit towards new release games. Microsoft's move, if true, would definitely have the effect of reducing the number of new games I purchase each year from 5-6 to just 2-3. I 'm off to start saving for a PS3, play their long list of exclusives, then get a PS4 in a couple of years if the tech proves itself.
It won't cost that much on release. Bet my shoes (they're very comfortable). Take a deep breath gaming brethren. I'm going to suggest something like $550-600 in store early days, with a price cut within the first year.
I''m 34, and thinking very seriously about getting a PS3 instead of next gen. I've loved my 360, but feel a little dispirited about the Xbox launch in particular. At least Sony hit a few more high notes for gamers. I'd love to play some of the PS3 exclusives finally and feel much more excited about them. Sigh.
Dishonored - fantastic gameplay, average graphics (although the art style and overall effect was captivating). Dragons Dogma same deal. To be honest, I was so engrossed in the worlds and gameplay of those games that I couldn't care less about graphics.
MadCity - I don't use a racing wheel either - what of it, mate? However I do use cockpit view in every racing/driving game I play, from Dirt to Forza to GRID to Real Racing. I don't troll around hanging $hit on people for their opinions. If you have one, state it.
