I don't think this changes the overall direction of the console. Microsoft needed a scapegoat and I'm sure Don Mattrick knew what was coming. It was a collective decision to target the living room for their next console.

One down, tons more idiots to go.

Major Nelson, Steve Ballmer, & Phil Spencer are next...then add in that moron Albert Penello, Mr. "PS4 specs are meaningless" guy. The Microsoft hierarchy needs a shake-up lol.

I loved the Last of Us. The journey was amazing, and its cool that you can actually disagree with the players actions/motivations but still understand the scope of their character. Like I didn't really like how Joel and Marlene robbed Ellie of her own decision. Joel's actions kind of took me back to the problem I had with ME3 synthesis ending. He essentially said that mankind was too far gone, and wasn't worth saving anyway. You can't make that assessment for everyone, unless you've met all survivors. The same as Shephard making the assessment that all citizens in the galaxy are ready and able to be merged to synthetics. What? One person can't make that choice for everyone. Nonetheless the game deserves all the praise it gets for its complex characters.

It looks like the 3rd console curse is in full effect for Microsoft.

@unreal101 @Dreamcast86 @Phrosnite It will carry if we continue to support it. Buy digital AND physical. Support the growing digital but also let publishers know we want t keep our choice of physical. Money talks, and publishers are the biggest listeners.

Nope. I find it funny that the guy who left Ubisoft and went to THQ who then folded and hasn't found his way since is offering all knowing insight on the game industry? lol. As long as publishers continue to charge $60 for digital games, there will always be demand for physical media. Period. "And there's nothing you can do about that, Desilets."

Yep, it makes sense now. The cloud must be some excuse for DRM. Look at how easy it is for Microsoft to just......"remove" the DRM from xbox one. Just a patch? Remember Sim City & Diablo III people, the supposed connections to the cloud, but it was seemingly easy to just remove it. Something just doesn't feel right.....Im a little on edge about moving forward. If its that easy, who's to say they won't slowly reintroduce the policies in some form to get gamers used to the idea of DRM and online checks?
