Look, just make digital downloads $30-$40 and you will definitely see more sales. What are the advantages to buying New games? What are the advantages to not waiting for a price drop? Why should I fork over 60 bucks now instead of waiting?
HEY PUBLISHERS & DEVELOPERS! You wanna know how to make more money from your games.
1. Benefit from more console sales. The higher the install base, the more likely those gamers will buy most console exclusives. Have Sony and Microsoft push to get as much consoles in as many households as possible.
2. Pricing. Show us the benefits of buying digital. Without the need for physical resources, then there is no excuse for digital downloads costing as much as physical. What are the benefits to buying NEW??????????????????? Does your game have lasting appeal? Is there more to do after the initial campaign? Is your multiplayer good enough to last more than a few months??? Tell me why I should fork up 60 bucks right now instead of waiting for a price drop. Why is it so important to get the game NOW instead of waiting????????????????
If you answer this, then gamers are willing to meet you in the middle of this debate.
@HackedLife Oh I'm sorry, not everyone always has $60 up front. Not very many games are worth that price anyway. I will wait until the price drops by at least 10 bucks before trading in my current games. I'm not even sure that a 10 hour campaign is worth 60 bucks anymore.
Absurd. This is a clear message that publishers and developers want the benefits of retail but whine, complain & riot when the negatives of that system creep up. Publishers make their money from every new game sale. THAT'S IT. Anything else is double dipping. Gamers are the ones who are being hurt. We are in the middle of a war between Publishers & the retailers. The constant tug of war is really hurting gaming. I will continue to buy used until the industry shows me the benefits of buying digital & buying new.
@skateryanboarde I'm not paying $60 or a 6 hour story with a mediocre multiplayer. Period. I'm not paying $60 for games that don't warrant that value. I will trade in games to decrease the price. The problem is that games no longer warrant the $60 purchase. I will buy used games as long as 6 hour campaigns, day one dlc, & day one micro-transactions continue too be forced.
I DON"T BELIEVE YOU. Sorry, its nothing personal microsoft. I'm sure you have some nice guys who work hard over there but nah. It's damaging that your company name is even attached to the NSA. Whenever I hear about the NSA scandal I will associate microsoft with it....among all of the other programs I use, cell phone, computer, etc. Just like people who aren't convicted of a crime. They may be out of the prospect of jail but they will always be attached to that crime. Their record is stained.....I won't be getting an X1 ever. Hopefully those that do buy it enjoy it, no hard feelings to Xbox fans. I will be getting a PS4, where peace of mind is plenty...unless I hear something about them too..
