I truly hope it comes with a single multitouch screen and 2 analog sticks... they would have to change the name, of course... and I have a feeling the games will be digitally distributed only...

Since Square is not bound to any exclusivity agreement, I think it is likely to come to pc... porting shouldn't take long and there's money to be made, so... I'm looking forward to that.

I would either go with a DS lite (I own one) or an XL... if you are going to play 2-4 hours a week, you might want to pick a DS lite and save some money, not to mention that battery life should be better on a DS lite...

Anything with at least a core due duo CPU (2ghz or better) and an ati 4650 will do. Check HP's, Asus' or Sony's website, you will find one at a reasonable price. I game on an HP with a T6400 CPU and a 4650, and can run pretty much anything at medium-hight. Some of the games I've played on it are Bioshock (maxed out), Fallout 3 (on high), LOTRO (medium-high), Dragon Age (medium-high).

If you want more than that, I suggest you get a desktop (a laptop with that kind of performance is ridiculously expensive, as you will see)

I believe hardware is running too fast... whats's the buzz about crysis? This game came out and suddenly some people like tried to convince you your rig sucked cause it couldn't max it out... is it really worth it to spend that kind of money for a game or two? Do you really need 3 to 6 monitors to enjoy a game? Do you need to pay lots of money for hardware waiting for the future? It is very likely what you bought will not be outdated when that happens.

I think we are being pushed to spend more and more, GPU producers tried to convince us that we needed more than a GPU for gaming, now they're trying to convince us that one monitor (that once was a 19 inches and now is a 24) is not good enough... honestly, I'm getting sick of this... this kind of Bullxxxx makes me wanna get a console or give up gaming...

By the way, I game on a lappy with an ATI 4650 1GB and guess what? I can play pretty much anything with medium/high settings and 35/40 fps on an external 19 inch monitor at 1440x900 except crysis and world at war... personally I'm happy with that, and if you asked me... I'd rather have more quality games than so called fotorealistic games out there..

[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"][QUOTE="tony2077ca"] if that happened the industry would diemrbojangles25

I don't think so, look at the iphone app store.

those apps takes days to weeks to develop the majority of time. They dont have the millions of dollars and years of effort, not to mention staffs of dozens to hundreds of people, behind them.

Profit margins in software gaming are extremely narrow, even for successful developers with large publishers.

That's exactly what's getting out of hand, what you get is over expensive titles with fancy graphics and no soul, they are all very similar (in a given genre) cause given the costs nobody is willing to take risks and innovate.

heres the list of upcoming games for 2010

reasons to be a pc gamer 2010

and heres the list for the previous 3 years.

reasons to be a pc gamer 2009

reasons to be a pc gamer 2008

reasons to be a pc gamer 2007

clearly the pc has been suffering from a lack of games these past few years and has nothing new coming out and is being left in the dust by the consoles /sacarsm

This is getting pretty old, many of the games on the "reasons to be a pc gamer 2010" list are also in the 2009, 2008 and 2007 lists. (Do they count every year? When are they actually coming out?) Not to mention multiplat games (which are hardly reasons to be a pc gamer) and titles such as GW2 that are listed in the 2010 list, but are actually due for release in 2011. You take all of those away, and what are you left with? I believe if you are interested in RTS's, MMORPG's and Point and click adventures you should stick to pc gaming, but if you are not, there's a chance a console could be a better choice. And this is coming form someone who's still gaming on a PC (I'm into MMO's, which are time comsuming and don't leave time for other games, if you are also interested in having a social life). But come on guys, let's face it... times are changing.
