Well when I saw that Heart Gold was coming out soon I decided to go buy a DS soon. The thing is should I get the Lite or the DSi? I'm probably gonna play the DS around 2-4 hours a week MAX since I have quite a busy life.

I'm also gonna get other games.. i'm not gonna play only that. So what do you guys think?

DSi has slightly bigger screens louder speakers better feeling buttons and ability to play dsiware than the ds lite ds lite has game boy advance slot, so you can play your gba games on it. but the dsi is somewhat more expensive than the ds lite. It depends on what you want. but the dsi xl is coming out i think in march, and it has very big screens. if you can wait a little while, you might want to get that. it is like the dsi, except bigger screens.

Or, if you want to save money and if you have GBA games, get a DS Lite. They can support GBA games; while the DSi cannot. The DS Lite is also 50-70 dollars cheaper.

Well if you aren't gonna get too much time to game, and if you're not interested in the games already on DSiWare, grab yourself a DS Lite for $130, spend $40 on HeartGold.

If you do get a DSi i recommend Dr.Mario, FieldRunners, Mighty Flip Champs.

$50 to $70? Really?

169.99-129.99= 39.99

Or he could buy a DSi and a GBA for ,...well probably for $200 altogether... just if he wants too

^sorry, I heard price of DSi XL was $190. (Perhaps in Canadian Dollars.) Wasn't thinking of the regular DSi. not 70; i'm wrong. 40-50, then.

*throws DSi XL into the mix*

Of course the DSi XL is even bigger and even more expensive. Once thing no-one has mentioned is that the DSi does of course have two cameras and some games come with content that can only be accessed on the DSi.

However you can't play games like "guitar hero" as it requires the GBA slot for the "guitar" on the DSi or XL

I have a DSi ( upgraded from a lite when it first came out ) and I am pleased with it. I didn't have any GBA games anyway and the bigger screen is great and the DSiWare is a nice addition.

I would either go with a DS lite (I own one) or an XL... if you are going to play 2-4 hours a week, you might want to pick a DS lite and save some money, not to mention that battery life should be better on a DS lite...

And well --- I'd really recommend buying the DS Lite used. I mean you can find it cheap, and in good condition for less than $100 -- you aren't going to play it all that often so why pour all kinds of money into it?

If you have any pokemon gba games and you want to transfer them to your ds games than get a ds lite. Other than that it's just whatever you like.

GBA slot and longer battery life make it the one to get.

Well I really don't care for the DSiware stuff but I don't have any GBA games either. So if you guys are saying the Lite has a better battery, I guess that's what i'm getting.

If you have a well-working GBASP/Micro, get a DSi. If not, and you are interested in the GBA's library of games at all, then get a DSLite.
