A generic shooter? I assume we can talk about the episodes...The sort of emotion from the characters in episodes 1+2 is light years away from the NPC's in the first game and I think it makes for a much for engaging and personal experience. Thus it is far beyond being a "generic" shooter . You actually care what is going to happen...(Raises Flame Shield)biggest_loser

I agree, it's not, but it was a comparison. The original is leaps and bounds better than the second, but that doesn't mean the second wasn't amazing, that was my point.

well half life 1 makes half life 2 look like a generic shooter, and half life 2 is one of the best games ever. At least in my opinion.

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"][QUOTE="likeclkwrk"]your an idiot. chrisrooR

:lol: I agree overhyped, it can't even run on todays hardware which is cool if it was revolutionary in some way.......but it isn't.

Running 2 gigs, 8800 gtx, e6600 c2d overclocked... runs very high all at mid 20's. Try actually getting todays hardware and youll see the game runs quite fine

Ya on modern tech the game runs great. I'm playing on a Q6600 oced to 2.9ghz, an eVGA 8800GTX KO, 2gb ram and at 1680x1050 on high i get 40-50 fps in combat situations. The game is most certainly playable. Anyone who demands games be playing on max with current hardware is mental. A lot of your high end games when they were released were not playable at a true max of high res, aa, etc...

I have got the same but stock speed and a 8800 ultra yet the game kills my computer maybe 20 fps in combat at 1280x1024. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I get Bioshock at 115 fps average and fear at 130 but crysis is unplayable. Would OC'ing make that big a deal?

why must you turn this thread into a house of lies?

I'm not lying ffs, it's a legitimate question because I dropped a lot of money to play this game but on all high my computer dies....

you guys know that a high end pc doesn't only just play games right? Editing, downloading, work applications, watching streaming movies on my tv, music, watch dvd's on my tv, bang for the buck I think the PC is the best way to go. Soon enough there will be full streaming television then my pc will do everything.

Star Trek Online is coming out someday.

By the way, why did you hate EVE?

Selrath

Might be because it's so extremely slow you feel like hanging yourself before you've finished the five hour long tutorial.

that, the permadeaths, the gate camping, the crappy community purely focused on pvp. And the part I liked the least was there was no free flying, all you could do was click where you wanted to go, in Earth and Beyond you could fly wherever you want.

I know it's a niche market and I'm just wondering what space mmo's are coming out. I played Earth and Beyond which I loved, played Eve Online which I absolutely hate. And don't mention SWG because that game is crap now. So what ones are out there, or are coming out that aren't gonna be vaporware?

same thing hapenned to me, once you get a hang of how the combat system works it gets a lot easier to play. My first recommendation is to get fraps and make sure you are playing on a framerate where the enemies don't create any stutter 35+ minimum, on my old computer there was horrible stutter and I hated the game for it. Second of all you have to play the combat like a normal shooter, I hated the game originally because of how the combat felt but once you get some good powers it really gets good. Also note that difficulty can be tough depending on how you play even if the same strategy works in other games. It really is a good game but the ending is meh
