I suppose that argument has validity... given that I love playing games without any storyline... No wait, that's not right... in fact if I stop and think about it I'd say this sounds more like an excuse to justify not making the bottom line needed for a game like Just Cause 2.

Given that we're seeing an increasing number of games actually refocusing and emphasizing the importance of story it's actually quite sad to see the founder of an IP like Just Cause take this rather backward stance on the importance of a storyline.

I have to admit to not expecting much more than the previous games in the BioShock franchise while playing Infinite however for the first time in almost a year this was a game that I just couldn't put down until I finished it.

The game deserves all the recognition it's getting not because of it's gameplay which is just up to par at best, however for the degree of depth that you can see from every aspect of the world. Columbia is a constantly evolving city that doesn't just bring to surface on how a utopian society can so easily crumble but at the same time also brings to surface humanity's personal demons on a much more personal level through Booker DeWitt's experiences in the city. It makes the player wrestle with and appreciate the ideas of cause and effect and how a single person's choices can impact their surroundings.

BioShock Infinite isn't a game worth playing if you're looking for epic gunfights or memorable action sequences. However if you're looking for a truly immersive experience that provokes thought as well as realization, well then all I can say is make sure you enjoy the ride because it only happens once.

Seems like a poor excuse to hide the fact that Nintendo just isn't what it used to be. There used to be a time I used to want to own a Nintendo console for their IP's but it's been years since they've created anything truly innovative in terms of a new franchise. Sometimes new ideas need a brand new foundation in order to truly blossom.

That sounds like too sweeping a statement to make, at the end of the day the importance of graphics comes down to the genre and kind of immersion you're looking for your players to experience from a game. That said there are plenty of brilliant games that didn't need top end graphics to be an amazing experience (i.e. Minecraft, plants vs zombies, The Walking Dead). However the opposite philosophy can also apply with a number of games that wouldn't have been the same without their graphical component (i.e Dishonored, Bioshock, Skyrim).

At the end of the day it comes down to striking a balance and personally I feel that games that go about creating an immersive experience without relying too heavily on graphics usually have a more creative and lasting experience from the gamer's point of view.

Is anyone else forgetting another major reason Microsoft would want to go ahead with this? Subscription Fees! There's no way in hell that you'd be allowed to stay online 24/7 on the Xbox Live network without having to pay a monthly/yearly subscrption. It's typical commercialist mentality without any regard for how these decisions would affect their consumers.

At this stage lets just pray and hope that this is just a rumor otherwise, personally it's no longer a toss up between the new Xbox or the PS4.
