I'm in need of a fairly quick gpu upgrade as my 8800gts died tonight after playing MW2 with the latest update. Does anyone have any info or experience with the MSI n9800gt md1g? Compared to other branded 9800gt's? I tried looking for a benchmark but couldnt find anything except news reports about the release of the card.

Any help is much appreciated! Cheers

Just after the update today my game froze within seconds of entering the first match I played and displayed the textures as purple and had huge artifacting. I had to restart, now I've got huge blue and grey vertical dotted lines up my screen and my PC won't boot properly.

I'm running on an 8800gts and I turn everything to low when I play online as I find it much easier to see whats happening. (even though I can play with most settings at high fine).

My PC boots fine in safe mode, so I tried uninstalling the video drivers and installing an older version but still my PC won't boot up normally properly and just displays a mix of black and white patterns, red, green and blue dots on the screen with any version of drivers installed.

So now I'm sitting here on my really old PC, looks like I'm screwed. MW2 sure screwed over my gpu after this new update, everything has been working fine everyday for the past 2 weeks.

I'm going to have to try buy a new gpu before the end of the week.

Anyone else have any problems after the latest update?

Hmm, alright I'll give Freespace 2 a try later. Thanks guys!

Still open for suggestions on any other free, open world space combat/trading sims with good graphics though!

Does anyone know of any good free space combat/trading sims with huge worlds and decent graphics? Preferably singleplayer and not MMO.

I've been meaning to download the trial of Evochron Legends, but I'm curious to see if anyone knows of anything with better graphics.

I had a look at the X2 and X3 and while they look decent in the screenshots the textures looks painfully low resolution close up.

So anyone know of any free ones with good graphics?

Terror from the Deep and UFO Defense are my favourites.

What games are you playing that have 'floaty' physics?

Well, they won't be working on a new System Shock since they don't own the IP to it anymore. Aren't they supposed to be working on a new X-Com game?

The first water colour of the persons profile (at the very bottom) is the best.
