@sladakrobot: It would really depend how much of a slice of each game MS want. Too much and the game doesn't get made. I'm just hoping somewhere out there another physics engine is ready (Nvidia) that dev's can use if they don't want to line MS's pockets.
@Flyin3lvl: How so? Directx12 is/will be used on xbox. Azura is being used with xbox. MS is xbox. There for MS acquiring Havok will have everything to do with xbox.....
@sladakrobot: Maybe you should read my post a bit more thoroughly. What I said was MS, having now acquired Havok, can now stop developers from using it IF THEY WISH.
So lets have a look at this example. Sucker Punch want to make Infamous 4. Having used Havok for physics in second son they want to use it again. Microsoft say no unless Sucker Punch make the game for their platform too. The game is never made.
Now how is that good for gaming?? It's a dirty move by MS that shouldn't of been allowed to take place. MS needs Havok? No, MS played a money card that could see dev's that are not under their wing become obsolete. Again, how is that good for gaming?
