@drocdoc: Same. Think I paid 9 quid for Mad Max a few months ago from CDKeys whilst it was still going for 40 quid on consoles.

@DrunkenPunk800: Min GC would be a 970 for VR. You could pick one up fairly cheap if you look in the right places. :)

@hystavito: I don't mean to sound rude and I'm not poking for a fight but define dead? In what terms are they dead? I get that for some people having a big tower in the livingroom might not be ideal but that doesn't mean PC's are dead.

@Chatch09: Same, bring on CV1. A late (or early, whatever floats your boat) X-Mas prezzy to myself :)

@Megavideogamer: I'm not sure what Gartner are smoking and I'm not sure where they got their 'research' from but as it is at this point in time Oculus Rift CV1 min system specs are -

  • NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
  • Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
  • 8GB+ RAM
  • Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
  • 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
  • Windows 7 SP1 64-bit or newer

I could slap together a PC that meets those requirements for about £550. So I'd say anyone who was interested in building a half decent gaming PC (most of the steam community) would have gone with components that meet those specs or better them. So 1% seems a little off.

@bk2fut: would be alright if they were worth anything other than nerd bragging rights. Same for Steam & xbox achievements.
