@crunchb3rry Not exactly. There are opposite flaws with both controller's sticks regarding tension and deadzone. The 360 has increasing resistance as you push the stick further from the center, which makes it feel less floaty, but the actual deadzone is a massive 20-25%% because of how loose and floppy the stick is while centered.
The PS3 on the other hand is the exact opposite. The resistance is linear as you get further from the center, making it hard to feel how far off center you are by judging how much tension the stick has. However the deadzone is a tight 9%% which allows for more very slight movements without the need for acceleration curves (which would interpret the 9%% or 20-25%% as 0%%).
Bust out an old N64 emulator with Mario 64 and use a 360 controller in Xinput mode and a PS3 controller in DirectInput mode to see this deadzone difference in effect. Mario cannot do the slow tip-toe creep with a 360 controller (or PS3 controller being emulated as 360 controller thanks to Xinput). The range is the same.
Now for the triggers: The 360's triggers are like the PS3's sticks: linear resistance. Pulling them just a little bit takes just about as much pressure as pulling them all the way in, which makes them excellent for rapid trigger fire like in shooting games but not great fro driving games.
However the PS3's triggers get progressively harder to push the further they're depressed. This makes them better for driving games because you can always tell how far they're pushed in by how much pressure is required (like the pedals of a car), but for shooters it's harder to pull them in rapid fire succession. Yes the convexness adds to this issue, but it's not the sole cause. I have some of those concave trigger addons and they're substantially worse for it.
It's no shit controller, but it certainly isn't for shooters.
Banning violent games or guns is little more than sweeping under the rug the actual problem of mental healthcare in this second world country. How about discussing the real issue instead?
Eddie... God should not be capitalized unless it is a proper noun, signifying the "name" of the Christian god. This Molyneux game will not have you playing as Yaweh or Jehova or whatever other names are assigned to that being. This is a "god" game, not a "God" game.
@Sw1tched Yeah, it's kinda surprising they haven't added native controller support to the PC version yet. I'd definitely play Minecraft more if I could just turn on a wireless controller and play from my bed instead of getting up and sitting at the mouse and keyboard. I suppose the game would work well enough using Joy2Key or Xpadder or other similar programs since the PC version doesn't have analog movement.
@Metallicwolf29 In that case, you chose the least appropriate set of comments to respond to. Both Deadpeasant and I were referencing features and vehicles that were in San Andreas or earlier. All you're doing in the end is inadvertently saying we might get our wishes fulfilled.
@Metallicwolf29 And I'm saying you don't know a single thing about how the game has changed. Also show me where people are going crazy. All I see are people saying they hope they bring back the specialty vehicles they had in San Andreas. What's hilarious is people's responses trying to downlpay other's responses as if they have some insider info.
