@firehawkx: Two points. Yes I agree that the patches and mods improved the game, no doubt about it. The initial state of the 'looks' of the game was just laughable. My point is that Mass Effect is a top AAA game, with lot's of history and great backing. With patches and mods it is now only serviceable you know? It's far from good or great which is what I wanted out of a big franchise like that :|

Examples? Uncharted, tomb raider, god of war. Those are the graphics I wanna see in mass effect. We have the tech to make it happen but they just cut corners till there was nowhere left to cut and we got garbage and as a big fan of the franchise I am still a little irked about it :)

Second point. Given a choice, money being no object, if a developer has a choice between fully animated+fully voiced vs fully animated+partially voiced vs partly animated+partially voiced...who would not go for animations and voice everywhere? "Ni no kuni" is just saving money and time, there is no other explanation for it. I played a fair amount of that game and then stopped. I loved the anime style and enjoyed the graphics but after a while you realise how far in between those animations come about and with voice it is even worse. To me, that type of story telling ends up being very poor because you are forced to look and read the text. I was constantly pushing through messages of text and completely ignoring the graphics because your eyes were glued to the bottom box. With voice animation you would be looking at the characters instead of reading. Huge difference!

@pointsup: You should've bought NMS and sea of thieves too just to get the "Alpha tester on launch day" achievement award. I think you need all 4 games for that.

@firehawkx: The looks are still pretty bad aren't they? Which is one of the main reasons people played mass effect in the first place. There's a lot of story, a lot of dialogue. It's nice when the characters and animations look good.

Whatever the reason for the success of Sea of Thieves, in my opinion, it is sad news. I don't want that game to be successful. I don't want any game like that to be successful. When you reward them with money for dishing out such an empty and incomplete product we are just saying it is ok to do this. It wasn't even priced like an indie, it was a full AAA title. You paid the same to play farcry 5 or gta 5 or the witcher 3 or horizon zero or zelda and those games dwarf SoT, in every way.

This is not ok.

I have played a bit of PUBG and Fortnite. I like the battle royale genre and for me it's good for an hour of two of fun. After that it gets a bit repetitive.

What I am looking for in this genre is a free to play game with decent/real graphics and good animations.

PUBG is not free.

Fortnite is cartoony; Fornite is not only shooting it's also building so you end up spending rounds gathering resources and end the match fighting in ugly towers with all the mechanics that involves.

These 2 are the most popular right now. If someone makes a f2p game with pubg graphics (not cartoony) I will be playing it.

@inferiorego: I agree that one should give a show a chance by watching at least 3, unless it is really not to your taste. However, it's better when you watch 2 and 3 without already having to force yourself too much.

Krypton seems a bit low budget, a bit too simple, the acting doesn't stand out, I don't think it is going to go far.

What do you think about the idea though? Is the lore enough to keep people going? Because this will barely tie in with a superhero and it's just about people doing peoplely things.

It's great to have the tools available to create and let your imagination go wild. Playing these like some alpha tester? Who's got the time for such nonsense!!

Every month there are dozens of hours of good gameplay being released in the form of new games not to mention the good gameplay on those repetitive multiplayer online games like dota or overwatch or battlefield or hearthstone or pubg.

I had an invitation to beta test the arcade mode and only able to withstand like an hour of it and it was using ubisoft made maps. Such simplistic gameplay with bad animations and weird textures, felt like playing CS. We can do better than that now!
