@suicidesn0wman: I'm afraid Gamespot has a bit of a reputation in this department, taking too long fix simple things.

Greetings

I searched the forums for a bit to see if there was any mention of this with no success plus I've had this problem for a while so, if it is not fixed then you may not know about it.

Whenever I make a comment on an article, because I have my notifications on, I get a message with the reply to my comment. The message has a link that I click to go and reply but most times (not always) clicking on this link leads me to the page in question but not to the comment. This then leads to a frustrating and time consuming search for my own post to find where that reply is located.

What is happening? It seems pretty clear. The link has an id that corresponds to that specific post in the comments. This ID matches. What does not match however is the page number. The notification link is created at a specific moment in time when my post was in page 2 but then more comments come in and it's no longer in page 2 so the link fails when it is clicked.

One way to fix this would be to default the "sorted by" to "First" because then the posts would be sorted chronologically and the page number would always match. Since it's on "latest" this problem will continue to happen. However, this would mean that whenever I'm visiting an article I would always read the oldest posts first and would always have to click that "sorted by" button to changed to "latest" because that's how I like to read my comments. So a different solution would be preferable.

Thank you

I don't usually complain about these things, mainly because I don't think it does any good, but also because I'm not a complainer and just try to deal with the situation. However, I feel that a fix would be very easy to implement and would surely help the website's reputation.

I've been coming to gamespot for my gaming info for many many years now. It has led me to buy games, buy computer hardware, go watch movies, etc. All because of the info and advertisement you provide. It's a nice business model that works for me.

Before making this post I went on a small search to find a gamespot alternative because I am not having a good experience with the website any more. I didn't look too hard but I didn't find what I was looking for. The current state of affairs however led me to try and find my gaming info from somewhere else and this can't be a good thing for you guys if your ad policies are driving people away.

The problem: Every video has an ad at the start. These ads are very often not geographically relevant but worst of all they repeat. I visit the website say every 3 days, I open up some 5,6,7 videos and every single one has an ad in the beginning, not a relevant ad and it's always the same ad that I watch 7x in a row?

The solution: We're all used to youtube by now. We all visit it daily, we all go there looking for videos. They have relevant ads, skippable ads, they don't show on every single video and they don't repeat.

I am your customer. I am giving you my feedback hoping that it leads to some improvement in the management of your business model. I fear that the only feedback you need is that that is provided by your website visits statistics but hey, who knows, maybe, just maybe, this message might do some good.

Thanks for reading

PS: Bring back feedbackula already for heaven's sake ^_^
