Actually, it will be less money for farmers in D2. An official auction house means there is a huge amount more supply than previously. Prices go down so the farmer makes less money per item. Not only that, the farmer also has to pay transaction fees to Blizzard for each item listing and sale. Overall, the farmer makes less money with this new system than before. All those trading websites are going to lose a lot of money.
I've never gotten into that stuff though, so it doesn't bother me, but I'm sure those people are very angry right now. I also remember reading with d2jsp some people had saved up tons of credits (or whatever they use) from D2 sales, but with this new system those credits are basically worthless. All that time they put in is gone.
Well from my point of view it will be more money, cause the demand will jump. And don't forget that not a lot of people will be able to put good and rare stuff on the AH. The supply won't come from people playing the game normally, because those get rarely those rare and precious items. for example in D2 a bot can get 4-5 shako per week, but you can probably get 1 per years if you "play" the game. this one shako per year won't lower the price at all.
This new system will encourage botting, and blizzard will profit from it also, why would they fight botters now ?
