maxblais' forum posts
I've played HL2 but not the episode one since my computer was too weak at that time :)
I'd be happy to try those out hehe
username is blaisminator on steam, coming online now
I think I have some double game too i'll check that out maybe I can give you some
Spore - I only liked phase I, got tired after you make your toon and fight others, was too repetitive
Prince of Persia : Warrior Within - Was disapointed after playing Sand of time to see this game, looks too dark and the dialogue/story sucked for me. I stopped at the middle of it just to check the story and play T2T, this one is much better
The Witcher - got tired of the Loading time and uninstalled, I'll wait for a new PC before I try it again
There's a deal on NCIX.com, a 300 for 40 bucks, I would had 2 front fan to it for a total of 60$
Considering the 900 is 120 $, I don't think the 60$ different is worth a bigger top fan and some blue led on the front?
What do you guys think?
I'm wondering if anyone know if NCIX.CA have special deals after Xmas
cause I see some good deals right now on their site and i'm haven't decided between buying it now or waiting after Xmas for more rebates maybe?
Spec I have in my cart right now: (price in canadian $, before MIR)
-Antec 300 Case (40$)
-Asus P5Q Pro (150$+free shipping for the whole order)
-E8400 CPU, (200$, no real rebate here..)
-Artic Cooling Freezer 7 CPU cooler, (30$, no rebate)
-Seagate Barr. 500GB HD (65$)
-OCZ Reaper 4GB PC2-6400 (65$)
-EVGA 9800GT Akimbo (150$).. I wanted to get a GTX 260 core 216 but since i'm on a budget i'll replace my video card later to save money
+ Keep my 450 Antec PSU
What do you guys think, are those deal good enought to buy now, or should I wait after Xmas for better deal?
I really like the Antec 300 Case deal
Thanks for your advices!
I've never done that but I guess buying a used computer from someone may be cheaper alternative than buying a new one.
If you have something along the line of a E8400 CPU and a good GPU (8800+)
I may be interested, because i'm a bit low on the money and I found recycling someone's PC may be better for the environnement!
So here I am calling you guys that upgrade their PC each year... :)
Just post your complete spec here and the price that you're asking, also, if you live In Canada, Quebec, it would be perfect for a pickup
Thank you.
Merci je vais regarder ca! si tas dautres conseils pour sauver du cash hesite pas :)
Edit: Anyone in Quebec bought from NCIX.com? I'd like to know if you were charged more than 5% taxes when you got your order
Thanks!
[QUOTE="maxblais"]Newegg.ca has a better site, I agree, but the taxes and shipping are way too high compared to ncix.com (60$ to ship a case ?!)
I'm in Quebec, so maybe that's different if you're somewhere else. (damn lot of taxes in here...hehe)
I don't like Ncix.com site, but the deals are in the same price range than newegg.ca, less taxes, less shipping cost
I'll probably go with Ncix.com to buy my next rig, newegg.ca not competitive enought for now with shipping

I also live in Quebec, Montreal...
I just checked out an Antec 1200... it was $18 more with shipping @ newegg.ca . But I think they charge PST once you receive it... I don't remember.
You mean i'll have to pay more taxes once I receive my order from NCIX.com? I'm hesitating between Newegg.ca and Ncix.com to be honest, I don't see much choice for a HD 4850 from Ncix and can't see any review on this site, I'd like the Sapphire 4850 but it's not listed there :(
Maybe i'll just buy all my rig from newegg except the case from a local store here in Montreal, the Antec 900 is pretty cheap in this store in Montreal :

Future rig :
-Antec 900 case
-Asus P5q Pro
-E8400
-HD4850 videocard
-500GB HD
-4 GB memory
I'm in Quebec, so maybe that's different if you're somewhere else. (damn lot of taxes in here...hehe)

His case is completly crap a ~15 dollars one so I don't want to switch all the stuff from my case to his case..
Yeah 450W should be ok for this build, I've checked and they recommend a 450W for a 9800GTX+
