By announcing a new system, out in 1 year, and then release a new version of the old right after basically all but sabotaged the Slim. I'd be shocked if it sold at all considering the ps4 is more popular. I'm an Xbox fan but still feel this to be dumb.
Haha welcome to the new norm courtesy of Activision and EA. It's been happening for years and everyone still bought their stuff. Just more of the same, I'm guilty of supporting them too. Just don't buy the game or wait till its on sale or something.
I haven't bought a COD game since AW, which I regret even if it was on discount. Laggy gameplay as usual and a terrible movement finicky with the suite. Who forces the speed boost to the sprint button which makes you waste it everytime? I've been disappointed by COD for a very long time. I switched to battlefield until they basically did the same thing as COD with the terrible hosting and piss poor servers. So I have bought a battlefield game since bf4. I played Titanfall till I was basically having the same problems that the other games were having with hosting. The basic theme here is that all these games have the worst server hosting ever. I don't think anyone has developed a decent latency corrections system in ever. COD4 had some of the best servers around but everyone abandoned dedicated servers. BF servers suck because they have recycle crap net code for decades. Titanfall was COD with mechs in terms of the game servers, they used the Azure Microsoft servers but had some of the crappiest latency systems around. Why would a game give a player with a ping number over 100 better connection than players who's average is less than 50? Because they can't design decent net code and recycle stuff from years past. So everyone with fios and such are at a disadvantage to those with dial up?
@jach: perhaps but you are using the wrong game to discuss this. C&C Generals had mini sprites that looked like toys, you didn't really get the real sense of death since they basically looked like toys fighting battles. If you had used Bioshock Infinite, that would have made more sense because it tackled a lot of stuff with Apartheid, racism, false prophets and men tampering with God and religion which a lot this is going on today. Patriots could have mimicked a lot of things that were happening today, I mean what if they had released the game and some suicide bomber blew up a major populated venue and then we had the Paris bombings and a lot of shootings related to this ISIS stuff. It would have tapped a raw nerve and today's climate in relations to this stuff in games is different than it was years ago.
Stuff like this is why Alienware is OP, over priced! They host crap like this at the buyers expense. Yet they can still make substandard PC's! To get something with a decent setup is literally north of 2,000$ US currency! You are better buying the components your self and just building your own than supporting these lowlifes! Dell ruined this company!
@jshah500: price to market usage is not there yet for 4K. Most games don't take advantage of it and it's better to have 120 to 144 fps than 4K really. Once the market gets on the bandwagon will you see 4K take off.
I think it was also timing. We've had a lot of domestic terrorists attack people lately and all the foreign terrorist attacks I think contributed to its fall. Plus they have that generic sandbox game coming out in the next year or so that will effectively replace Patriots. It was a losing battle for that game. Siege looks good but is wracked by too many cheaters. Weak AC systems make that game terrible.
I have not been into the current trend in games. Lately since I've had an increase in a lot of financial responsibilities, I've been very selective of what I buy. Steam thankfully has a plethora of sales and have allowed me to get some stuff cheaper but still can't spend on a lot. I've been wanting to get siege but currently don't want to sink money into a game that still has dlc pending and a lot of hackers. I hope this lives up to the hype and I hope that we don't have any hackers in here or cheaters. I'm wondering if there will be any exploits, like resource exploits or money? I'm looking to just play and explore, I'll leave the combat to the COD noobs wanting IF in November, but I will defend myself.
I don't play and never will. However there needs to be some type of map provided to allow players to find Pokemon or else it's a broken experience. Wandering can only take you so far before it can be dangerous, hence all the dead bodies being found and the criminal activity that has happened. Those apps that are now banned were there to help in a way the the game never really provided or could adequately supply. Maybe the game should implement a NPC type sighting board that can be a way for players to have help finding areas where a Pokemon will spawn, like rare ones, and maybe some sort of timeframe for when they showed up. That way it can give help to players and still provide the challenge of searching for them.
