Triple A games have gotten shallower and shallower with more of a focus on recurrent user spending. I like the reward of having to earn or find stuff in games not having to pay for it. If I'm walled off from content unless I pay up it just kills the experience. I still haven't come to terms with dlc let alone microtransactions. I haven't been playing much the last few years. Game companies have been focusing more on casual gamers then the core gamer. Games have become too easy and hold your hand too much. Gaming is bigger then ever and most games seem to be all about presentation with flashy trailers then actual substance. They want your money before the game even comes out. Games are treated as disposable media that once you play them you throw them out. Take call of duty for example. Every year they release the same shit just with a new coat of paint. Activision expects you to play it then toss it aside for the new one. At this point the novelty of online gaming has worn off for me. I'm at a point I hate anything to do with connecting my gaming online.
