Off topic a bit, games that got rave reviews I regret buying:
Bio-Shock. I honestly have no fun in this game, I wish I did.
The Witcher. Maybe I just don't 'get it', but I really don't see what all the fan-based hype was about. I didn't finish the game, I got as far as some swampy area and gave up. What was with all the loot you could find and carry that seemed to serve no purpose what so ever?
World of Warcraft. I played EQ since 1999, but it isn't bias that makes me hate WoW, I welcomed it with open arms (I bought every MMO that came out since Merridian 59) but didn't enjoy it.
Back on topic, horrible games I bought against better judgement, and ignored reviews:
Lords of EverQuest: urg, it hurts. make it stop.
EverQuest II: urg, this hurt too. make it stop.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Sigh, I had such high hopes. Such high hopes..
Silverfall: I wanted a brainless Dioablo 2 clone... it was that, only without the fun.
Rise of Legends: Sigh... I really wanted Brian Reynolds to make good RTS games, but I am not a fan of the Rise of Series at all, wish I were.
World or Warcraft: Burning Crusade.... okay I have only myself to blame for this one, since I didnt even like the original game.. I was hoping that since my wife was addicted to WoW this would bring us closer together and give me a new shot at liking it.. I was wrong.
Can we please consolidate games that are released simultaneously on different platforms into one topical game header on the Top 10 list on the front page?
I find it frustrating to click on things like "Highest Rated" and see 30% of the list contain the same game over and over and over for a year because each port of the game is treated as a unique product.
I understand that one port may deserve a different rating than another, but can you allow readers to select the version of the game they are interested in after clicking on the title they care about?
Street Fighter II: Turbo
Excite Bike
Bomberman '93
The Opera Browser from the Wii-Ware or whatever its called, so I can read the net and watch Youtube on my TV.
