Here's the trailer, but read the following descriptions before responding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=txa87n2thpY

  • The Starship Damrey: You awaken in a Cold Sleep capsule with no memory of how you got there. With no explanation whatsoever, how will your struggle to escape end? From pioneers of the text-based adventure genre, Kazuya Asano and Takemaru Abiko, comes a new adventure where the inconceivable truth awaits.
  • Bugs vs. Tanks!: Keiji Inafune puts you in the heat of battle against the bugs! When a World War II panzer squad goes missing in action after being shrunk to the size of a bug, their war continues against this new thread.
  • Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale: From acclaimed story designer Kaz Ayabe, players take on the role of a child in a world where the hero shows and giant monsters of TV are a reality. Kaz Ayabe lets you run free in a place of idyllic scenery where a new drama unfolds.

I put the poll on top, but I'd also like to you rate your interest in the three games from 1 to 10. For me:

Damrey - 7/10 I think a weird first-person horror game may work very well and be very interesting.
BvT - 3/10 I don't care if it's from Inafune, it just doesn't look very good. I could be proven wrong though.
Tokyo Tale - 9/10 I love story-driven games, and so while this one looks to be perhaps the least like an actual game, I'm hoping for a quirky, but good and touching story and I think it could deliver. How about you guys?

Also, that may have been the biggest Nintendo Direct (in quantity and qualitity of info) since Directs have started. I'm really loving this format that they announce info with.

It's in my "saved for later." I'm interested, but I'll probably still keep reading more reviews while waiting to get the cash to buy it.

Are we talking about the big games that will be remembered as trendsetters and/or really amazing classics? And exclusively for consoles? If so, in no order: CoD4: Modern Warfare Bioshock 1 The Walking Dead Minecraft Then either Mass Effect, Super Mario Galaxy, or something. My personal list for just "best 5" would be much different.

[QUOTE="c_rake"]

You don't have to keep buying games, you know. Take it slow if you want to be able to play everything.

Shinobi-Neo
exactly. gamers should enjoy each and every game. :)

I think c_rake's statement and yours are somewhat in contradiction with each other. You either buy (or rent, borrow, whatever) games and experience them, or you don't. I may have a big backlog and a lot of games, and perhaps I may never get to all of them (though I do hope I will), but I've not been disappointed with the wide majority of games I've bought. If I didn't buy every game that I thought it likely I'd enjoy, I would have never bought some games like Little King's Story, which I really loved.

[QUOTE="bdmckinley"] Lotsa great games there. Kinda jealous and upset that I didn't pick up Prime Trilogy when I had the chance. I think I counted 12 games from your collection I have. Sold some off too. Still kicking myself for that one.

I didn't get it when it came out. That one set me back about $70. Do you have Little King's Story? I just finished that and I was very surprised by how much I liked it. It's like Pikmin with some Civilization. Try it!

Missing from this pic is Radiant Dawn, which would have completed the center, but I forgot that I put it somewhere else. I used to have more Wii games, but I sold about 9 of 'em.

The WiiU games are on the side, obviously. I thought I'd be the only one with NFS:MWU. Glad to see others got it.

bdmckinley
NFS:MWU is probably some of the most fun I've had with the console so far, not taking anything away from Mario U. NFS is a great game that everyone SHOULD have in their collection. My personal opinion, of course. Nice Wii collection BTW!

It is great! I've really liked Criterion since Burnout, even if I don't generally like racers. And thanks for the compliment!

SMTxFE

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem should be out sometime this year if I'm not mistaken and it's my most anticipated title of the year.

If they're going to do any other RTS, the only other one should be Starcraft 2. It has the community (on PC, not so sure how it would fair on a console) and the touchscreen and WiiMotes offer just as much precision as the Mouse and Keyboard for that as long as the Touchscreen is implemented correctly that is.

Considering both those series have typically been turn-based, I don't see why you think it'll be RTS. Unless word was leaked they were going to make it RTS.

Nothing I can think of. Sure there will be like a moment or two in a Mega Man or Dark Souls that will just make my eyes pop out in anger, but very brief.

I'm sort of similar, and I worry about what will happen when I (hopefully) find a full-time job in my field, but until then, I'm just gonna keep gaming on. My backlog's currently sitting at 259. That's down from the like 350+ it was last year.
