Sonic Jam on the Saturn is a good compilation it has Sonic 1/2/3/Knuckles.
the nice thing is that the games were optimized to run on the saturn, so the games look sharper, run smoother, and even sound clearer.
toss in an arrange mode and easy mode for each game, the ability to save your progress, and the 3D sonic world, and overall its a great compilation to have.
the only complaint I have is that they didnt put in Sonic CD in there.

I think Sonic Spinball is the game that gets all the unnecessary hate, while 3D blast deserves the hate it gets. Spinball was a very unique pinball game and played well. 3D Blast had bad controls and lacked platforming and speed, the two things that made Sonic great. I still can't believe Sonic Spinball has haters. It's probably my favorite....wait for it...spinoff game. Well besides Super Smash Bros. but that's not for a single franchise. I can't get into games like Mario Tennis.

Well Sega is working on a brand-new 2D HD Sonic game built "from the ground up" so my guess is that it'll be a mix of what made the 2D games so epic. I bet It'll be regarded as the best 2D Sonic game once it's released.
I just hope it's great and looks nothing like Sonic Advance.
