Wow, another elitist PC gamer crying because a developer doesnt show him enough love. Boo hoo. Glad they got rid of him, who needs someone bringing everyone else who tries to enjoy IW games down?

[QUOTE="bluezy"] If it's something like 100 KB, that's a very small file and clearly just an unlock for the DLC already present on the disc. Actual, post-release-developed DLC is like hundreds of megabytes.jazznate

Or it could be just a very small size....not all DLC is big. I mean, how can you accuse something that you have no factual basis for? You really have no idea if it was already on the disc or not.

And even if it was, who cares? It adds life to the game! Most people I know blow through their games as soon as they get them, then they sit on a shelf for years until they wanna bring them down again or maybe even trade them off. DLC makes your games longer and its cheap, usually 10 bucks or so.

Do you even realize how large a 100kb file is? The only things that small would be a text document, a low res picture, or like a small 8-bit game. You can't really add anything to a game for 100kb worth paying for.

They obviously did.

How do ANY of you know how much space a piece of DLC could take up? Your comparing it to avatars and word documents, but a game is built different. Maybe it utilizes data differently. NONE of you have any degree's in game design, so you wouldnt know. Your just speculating.

yodariquo

Because posting a concern to a developer's forum is really "bringing everyone else down." If your issue is enjoyment of the games, maybe you ought to care about those who want the game to be as enjoyable as possible.

They ARE as enjoyable as possible....for console owners.

If you have a concern, email the developer. No one cares about how bad you PC gamers are treated on a forum.

Almost the entire communty of newer-gen gamers.

Im talking about the kids who grew up on PS2 and original Xbox.

The older gen gamers, the one's who still remember goin to arcades and playin Duck Hunt on our NES' are the best kind, IMO.

These kids nowadays take everything for granted.

You'll find, if you go to Dragon Age threads on You Tube, or threads under video reviews and articles, or user reviews on Gamespot and many other gaming sites, that you will see many 8-10 scores and many 1-2 scores.

This is due to the fact that we really have two games in Dragon Age, on console, a Mass Effect typoe 'action-adventure, where you can fight real-time for long stretches without ever having to pause, and on PC a real RPG, like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights where you needed to pause to issue orders in a highly tactical combat system where the enemy was much harder. The interface on console and PC a differentiated by this action-rpg versus real RPG.

Whereas PC purchasers of the game seem to be loving it, console gamers do not seem happy with their version. Many console gamers also expected a Mass Effect type game with real-time action and not too deep a story or characterization. They wanted shallow, they got deep. PC gamers wanted deep and they got deep, in this area.

So when you're looking at the User Reviews, even where it's the PC section (Gamespot, for example), you see lots of obvious console players giving the game low scores and bringing down the average. With the PC users giving the game a higher score it means that averages seem to be below the PC review scores, but higher than the console review scores. This leading to PC gamers maybe thinking the game isn't so good as the reviewers say, and console owners thinking the game is better than reviwers say!

So if you're still divided about getting Dragon Age, I would say go to gaming sites that just cover your console and see what they think. because, for example, if you went to the PC review on this site and then looked at the user reviews you would se a lot of low scores and high scores and it seems very confusing!

As a PC gamer I am glad Bioware didn't dumb the game down. I also hope this means Mass Effect 2 will be more roleplaying rather than less. But I can see how, if you hadn't bought the game yet and were waiting for gamers comments, you would now be quite confused!

I would almost say, with some games, like Dragon Age and Risen, just to mention 2, that where the games are so different on PC and console, it should be mandatory for user reviews to state what machine the game was played on!!!

The only differences this game has on the PC is slightly better graphics.

Thats it.

1. Slipknot (Have seen them twice, insane live show, heaviest band I have EVER heard!)

2. Korn (Mostly before Head left the band, all of their albums up to See You On The Other Side have been excellent. Yes, even Take A Look In The Mirror)

3. Iron Freaking Maiden! (Need I say more?)

A 3-page word document is bigger than 100kb, there is absolutely no game content that small. That is a fact. And adding "life to the game" is only a valid argument if the content is developed after the game is released. A 100kb download means the content was already on the game and they just wanted to charge you more money for it. So, most of us do care deeply about the fact that we have to pay to unlock content already on the disk. Imagine if you buy a happy meal, but the fries are in a locked little box and you have to pay mcdonald's extra money to "unlock" the fries, that's how ludicrous this whole thing is.

I realize you BELIEVE this content is already on the disk, but how do you know for sure?

So its only valid if they come out with DLC after the game releases? They cant work on it at the same time another team is working on the actuall game? All DLC is is BONUS content. Stuff that can extend the game. You can buy the DLC right when it comes out or wait a year. Heck, if you wait, it might even be free!

I dont think they wanna just "charge you money." They already charge you for the game. They make a killing off of it. The money they make off of DLC is nothing compared to the actuall game. If anything, the amount of time and effort that goes into making a piece of DLC as large as The Lost and Damned or any of the Fallout 3 DLC is deff. more then they charge for it. These guys dont just whip this crap up willy nilly that takes about 5 minutes. Most DLC have a dedicated team working on it along side the actuall game.

They charge cheap for it because its bonus content that is made for the true fans of said game.A guy who casually plays Gears of War isnt going to go out and buy all the maps, but someone who is a fan will. No one is out to screw you, you need to step outside of your little box and realize your not that important.
