Funny that Microsoft paid Nintendo a mountain of cash to buy Rare yet they really got nothing from it.

Perfect Dark: PDZ is good but overkill after 10 years waiting for a true sequel.

Goldeneye: Nope can't touch that. EA has the Bond license and plans on milking it. All the good folks moved on a started Free Radical now making PS3 games.

Donkey Kong: Nope can't touch that AGAIN. Nintendo owns DK license.

What's left?

Banjo Kozooie - Great game back in the day but now looks like BK: Forever. A release any time this decade would be very generous.

Viva Pinata - WOW makes me wanna buy a $400 console just to play it really?

Microsoft clearly got shanked in this deal with Nintendo. Oh well Bungie their sacred cow will make up for all the spoiled milk!

Some people don't remember but back in 2003, Epic announced it was working on multiple new IPs one of them later became Gears the other is still unknown or in development possibly for the PS3. My feeling is Gears will remain exclusive to 360 and UT3 will be a PS3 only franchise especially since the mod community is much more open on the PSN and modding has been one the biggest strength of UT over the years.

It would be foolish to think 4 years ago when Epic was planning some of these games, it never showed anything to Sony. It was the console king back then with PS2 so naturally market share makes a big difference. I am pretty sure both Microsoft and Sony were pitched Gears and other new IPs. At some they came to an agreement on which game each would get. Gears went 360 exclusive only after Sony delayed PS3 launch and development kits were not readily available to 3rd party devs. That is what Sony acknowledged at E3 2007 and promised that Epic was optimizing Unreal Engine for PS3. Sony made a mistake by keeping early kits only to 1st party studios and not sharing enough info on PS3 hardware and programming. That is why a lot of developers went multiplatform in order to meet game release date and make up for develpment cost. Xbox 360's overall archtecture is similar to PC so developers could basically create everything with "place holders" and easily optmize it for 360 in 1-2 years. PS3 is a totally different concept and require great detail of work to sqeeze maximum efficiency. Look a Guerrilla, they've been exprimenting with PS3 kits since 2004 maybe even early. Even Insomniac said they had to completely change their work style in order to make full use of the Cell Engine.

I just got back home and snatched me a copy of Bioshock at Walmart open 24 hours. You may have to ask the electronic department manager to do you a favor and look for it in the stock. Anyway I got my in Houston and I just went there around 12:15 central time. Asked the manager on duty if they had Bioshock up for display and he said they are still stocking well I told him that I was a 100% sure they had already taken delivery probably a week ago and according to their agreement they must stock the game on August 21 and it's now past midnight so please get me a copy. 10 Minutes later he was back with a copy and he just rushed home as quickly as I could with a big smile on my face. Now I gotta pop this thing in the 360 and game on so see ya later go get yourself one too if you can.

Bioshock Rules!!!

People it happened with the 360 when Epic held back support until Gears was released on now look what others are doing with UE3 such as Bioshock. I have no doubt Epic will hold back on the PS3 until they release UT3 to showcase their own product first on Playstation platform. I expect them to reve up support next year once they have their 1st party titles out of the door. Look for Epic to make PS3 lead platform on future titles. In the mean time get a copy of Bioshock and tell Silicon Knights to shut up and finish this vaporware game sometime this decade.

This game was really good experience the first time I played but now it looks like they will clone this thing endlessly until all appeal for it is lost. 10 different versions coming out every year. Plus factor in all the other clones that are begining to emerge like Rock Band etc... 5 years from now this genre will be abundant of mediocre rip offs and look-alike. Similar to GTA being milked every year and all those cloneware knockoffs (True Crime, Crackdown, Saint's Row etc..)

Cloning Madden every year and pimping it on every platform conceivable was not enough for EA now they will use brute tactics to force people into buying roster updates they call "new games".

I've had it with EA from this day on I will no longer buy another EA game not Madden not Burnout not even freakin awesome lookin Crysis.

EA I hope you become the Enron of video game industry someday and burn in hell!

Gears has pretty lame climax I thought the RAAM General was a "mini-boss" somebody you'd kill to get to the last mean mother F alive.

This guy from the PC version looks like a much better boss than the RAAM cheap vampire
