@m7stech: I tend to read the user reviews and as predicted, the higher scores are coming from the people who know the lore. Getting reviews from fans of the franchise rather than attention grabbing trollers is IMO the best way to rate it - apart from ones own review!
The game gets its critics, yes I am one of them I have slated it a lot, praised it a lot, but I also play it from time to time. Even I have to admit that this PR stunt is pure genius.
Practically they have released the game all over again with mostly same gameplay and little added extras.
But the genius side is that this will drag nearly all the obsolete players back to it out of curiosity. The fact that its practically a whole new game but the meta of it is know by all is what feeds that curiosity.
I imagine this will be copied by other 'live' gaming communities - maybe even bethesda by writing in the lore that all the endgame episodes resulted in the destruction of Appelachia and the 'vault dweller' leaves to find pastures new.
@mogan: Ive downloaded it but not got round to playing it yet. These two comments alone might just be enough for me to put down Dark Souls 3 / R6 Siege and enter into the Dishonoured world.....
This is the best news I've heard since the release date of Cyberpunk. The fact its also FREE with game pass (technically not entirely free) makes it incredible value for money saving me 60 quid and with another load of games to boot.
@TJDMHEM: Silver17 is 100% correct IMO. If you are a solo gamer then either console really. Sony do release exquisite exclusives but my friends are situated on Xbox. I would have moved to PS if I hadn't have had the circle of gaming friends all on the same platform. I feel that playing with friends greatly magnifies the fun experienced, even within a poor game. Having said that, now the cross-platform seed has been planted, I imagine we will be seeing a lot of cross play in title releases here on out. That would increase the basis and order of magnitude when consoles are obsolete and streaming services take hold.
"In real life, the use of white phosphorus--also known as "Willy Pete"--against civilians and in civilian areas contravenes the Geneva Convention, thereby classing it as a war crime."
Key words "In real life". This is a fictional game. Get over it.
In real life the gunning down of civilians, using drones to target civvy areas and the neglect for the requirement to use minimum force (to name a few) contravenes the Geneva convention. That's all the the FPS genre of games.
If you wanted a game that didn't offend people or contravene the Geneva convention you'd end up with Tetris.
seriously, those who are offended or complaining, go and play Postal 2. CoD and most other recent games pale in comparison. But guess what - its not real.....
