Typical Microsoft, let us force this on you attitude and eliminate the competition by just blocking things. (I wouldn't be surprised if a lawsuit showed up eventually).
I was awarded a Microsoft store version of Gears 4 for my video card purchase and you can't even get to the game files to link them with Steam. They are actually hidden by Windows and some how they also have super administration rights over you. There is a work around but it's a pain.
Long story short there is zero Steam support and the Steam controller can't be used either. I'll be skipping the Windows Store unless there is an absolute must own title exclusive to them.
@Pokemon18986: They normally sell it at a loss but the lifespan of the console normally makes up for it with software and peripherals sales. Bringing out a new console every 2 years would most likely bankrupt them.
