I've been waiting on buying a PlayStation Vita for well over a year now. While I can see it isn't the "console gaming on the go" device Sony had originally envisioned thanks to the lack of big AAA games the last couple years, I am excited by its library of smaller games including JRPGs and indies. Not to mention Uncharted, Assassin's, Gravity Rush, etc. all look good.

My first question is this: Almost exactly a year ago, I made the leap to PlayStation Plus. Since then, I've been downloading and cancelling nearly every Vita game on my PS3, saving them for if/when I have a Vita. My collection of free games includes Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048, Sly 4 (cross-buy), Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA's E3 gift), Limbo, Dragon's Crown, Fez, PS All-Stars Battle Royale, Escape Plan, The Swapper, Kick & Fennick, and Rogue Legacy. So, I see buying a PS Vita as a good investment because I have a ton of free games for it and will continue to get them free so long as keep my PS Plus sub. In fact, I doubt I'll ever really buy a Vita game outside of a few rare occasions. So, my question is, just how easy is it to download these free games to a Vita? How does it work? Do I have to hook it up to my PS3? Will I be able to download them to the Vita just by signing in to my PSN account on my Vita? I want to be really careful here because the only reason I am buying a Vita is because of PS Plus.

Question #2: I see that the Vita is available for $200 in a Borderlands 2 bundle. I've played a bit of Borderlands 2 from PS Plus but it kind of got lost in the mix and I have not gotten too deep into it despite really liking it. So I know the game itself is great, but how is the Vita port? Any major changes? Is it buggy?

Third and final question: I remember hearing something similar to that the Vita needs a memory card, that they are expensive, only work for Vita's, are not bundled, and that you can't do much of anything without one. What of this is still (if ever) true?

I got Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix for x-mas and I love it so far. Having played the original (although never beating it, sadly), it's incredibly nostalgic while still holding up to be a great game.

Before I started playing, I chose to play on the "Beginner" difficulty mode. This was the mode I played on KH 1.5 and it worked out for me without feeling too easy at all. So, when I was looking at the different difficulties, I noticed something along the lines of, 'if you choose this difficulty, you will not unlock all secret endings.' This scared me a bit. I am fine with not seeing a couple end-cutscenes at the end of the game (I doubt I'll be able to beat the game anyways, so I'll just watch the ending(s) online), but I'm not okay with missing out on the final mix extras (weapons, mid-game cuscenes, bosses, etc.).

If I continue to play on Beginner, will I miss out on the Final Mix experience? I probably could play through the next difficulty setting up the ladder. I flew through the Roxas stuff like nothing. The "Struggle" was ridiculously easy. I know it'll get harder but... I could pull it off if it means it's the only way to play the full game.

So again, by playing on Beginner, what exactly will I miss out on?

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'm going to get it soon and see if I can avoid using it whenever possible. But hey, who knows, I might learn to like it. The rest of the game looks great.

And hey, have a happy Thanksgiving.

I'm interested in Dragon Age Inquisition. That said, I've never played a DA game before. Only a demo of the first one, I think, which I do not remember much about. So I have a deciding question: is the game tactical? I've had love for tactical/strategy games in the past, but I'm really not in the mood to play through one these days. So, I watched a couple gameplay clips on YouTube and the game looked great until the game switched to some free-roaming-camera tactical view. I lost interest there; it didn't look very fun.

So my question is, can you play through Dragon Age: Inquisition without any type of strategy/tactical view?

Also, if anyone could simply compare it to another game like it to give me a feel of what it's like?

The Witcher 3 & Batman: Arkham Knight in the somewhat foreseeable future.

Assassin's Creed: Unity is on my radar, I will wait to hear the word on the street about it before I give Ubisoft another $60.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 for sure.

I put in my disc copy of Uncharted 3 the other day and even though I played it about last year and still have the game/update file, it made me download a new game update (1.29 I believe, not that it makes a difference). I started downloading it and realized that it would take an estimated 20+ minutes. Sighing, I started the download. With about 5 minutes remaining of the download, I was hit with some sort of error screen. I circled out and my PS3 restarted. I went to update the game again thinking that it would just pick up where I had left off but it just started from scratch. I really don't feel like downloading this update so I have a question: If I cancel the update and play the later version (still with an older update), will I be able to unlock trophies?

I know you can't play online.

Here are some recommendations that I think would fit your taste:

- Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Great story and characters (you do not need Deus Ex experience at all), not very in-your-face action heavy, a ton of choice as to how you want to tackle a mission, a lot of clever free-roaming in the few hub worlds, great sense of lore that you can read up on (very interesting world)

- Heavy Rain - This is a very different video game and is known to be divisive due to its lack of actual gameplay. It's more so an interactive drama that allows you to play four different characters all connected to a series of child kidnappings. Great story and characters, one unforgettable experience.

- L.A. Noire - It's not at all like GTA. Some think that's a bad thing, I think that it's a great thing (I dislike the pace and humor GTA packs). You play as a detective in 1940s L.A. where you solve various crimes. There are plenty of action-packed shootouts and whatnot, but a lot of the game consists of driving around in the beautifully detailed and authentic open world and interacting in investigations. It's not at all a 'bro' game where you shoot constantly and I like that.

- The Last of Us - Do not miss this game. Great characters and great story. Very different from Uncharted.

- Spec Ops: The Line - While it is branded as a military shooter, it is much more that that when you really soak in the dark and haunting story. Worth a look.

I hope I helped. None of these games are action heavy and they all have "down times" where you can really appreciate the world and the characters. They all have fantastic stories and interesting characters.

Edit: How did I forget Red Dead Redemption? My favorite game. Again, it's a Rockstar game that is not GTA. You play as a former outlaw cowboy who has to track down his old gang members for the government, who is more or less blackmailing him. The Wild West open world is jaw dropping. There is so much stuff to do and the scenery is beautiful. You have the choice to be a badass outlaw who robs banks and shoots up towns or you can be a 'savior' figure and track down bounties and help strangers. I haven't played a PS3 games that is better than Red Dead Redemption. It is a must play. There is also a lot of downtime where you can just explore the West and take it all in, maybe do some reflecting.

@Crossel777: Thanks for the tips. I think I can work my way back to the 100 Acre Wood portal in End of the World to gummi ship back to get that stuff from Hollow Bastion and level up some more through the tournaments. Thanks again.
