@kintoneo: I respect your point about needing context for Evangelion, and I do agree; I usually make people watch all of Gainax's previous works before I introduce them to it.
That said, I've always strongly disagreed with everyone who hated the original ending (which was admittedly most people). The ending is literally the point of the entire series. I've also always thought EoE, while much flashier, was also much more bleak and depressing.
@Zeus: ThunderCats was directed by Katsuhito Akiyama, who also directed Gall Force and the first three episodes of the original Bubblegum Crisis. So yeah, that's legit.
@cylor: But did he really? And thanks for the spoiler block. That was classy, cheers!
Yes, he did. It was foreshadowed throughout the series, and there is no other way to interpret the ending without indulging in purely wishful thinking.
@G2Megatron: As I said, I liked the movie, but I didn't claim it was a masterpiece. You didn't like it, and that's cool. I'm definitely no fan of Waititi after his Mandalorian stint, and anything else he does with Star Wars will probably make Rian Johnson look good by comparison.
I suspect this is more of a reflection of the current state of the news media in general, particularly in the US, than anything else. Broadly speaking, their public favorability ratings poll nearly as low as the politicians they cover (for), and it's been consistently trending in that direction for more than a decade.
And I'm saying that as somebody who's never even punched Ms. al-Jilani in more than a dozen playthroughs. But watching the Shadow Broker's footage of her interview with that krogan never fails to make me smile.
@Heartagram_03: I would argue that the seasons, not the episodes, were too long. And after the second season, the commercial breaks became too frequent.
