@phattsao: Actually, it probably has more to do with the entire Star Wars channel being ratioed to hell and back while they're trying to promote their stupid High Republic garbage. It wouldn't be the first time YouTube has jumped at Disney's behest.
@Barighm: They're a business, and looking into new ways to increase sales is what they do.
They ought to try simply writing better stories and putting out better books; that worked pretty well for quite a few decades. It certainly has a much better track record than constantly trying to pander to people who aren't even interested in your product, to begin with.
