My list, focusing mainly on each game's campaign:

7: ODST; the game always felt unfinished to me, and the graphics are...really not very good, honestly.

6: Halo 5; took some big risks; some of them worked, some didn't...squad AI was horrible.

5: Halo 4; I hated the Prometheans in that game; they were just annoying to fight, at least IMHO.

4: Halo; the OG; while it was undeniably great for its time, it was far from flawless.

3: Halo 2; I'm one of the few people who actually loved playing as the Arbiter.

2: Halo 3; the towering crescendo of Bungie's Master Chief trilogy.

1: Reach; hands down the best Halo campaign of all, and also the best Firefight mode.

I'm starting to think Ridley might be deliberately trying to jump the shark. Even though he already has, several times.

@doubtless1: TRON: Legacy was pretty damn good, too.

But yeah, this is a terrible idea. Gladiator is not a movie that needs, or should have, a sequel. It was a near-perfect standalone story.

They've really got to strain to give people a reason to want to go see this.

@kintoneo: I should note that I'm extremely biased when it comes to EVA, as it is by far and away my favorite anime of all time. The TV series came out at a particularly pivotal point in my life, and it literally changed my perspective on many things in life.

I never cared much for EoE, however, and the new movies haven't done much for me, either.

@somebodyweird: Escaflowne is an underappreciated series. So was Key the Metal Idol.

Actually, I think EoE was (Hideaki) Anno's response to the audience's reaction to the TV ending. That's why it's so violent, nihilistic and traumatic.
