Dust your PS3. If the fans are getting loud it means the inside is getting warm. This happens if airflow is weak, which is either because your PS3 is in a small enclosed case, or dust is blocking the vents. Use a compressed air duster and clean it out, you'll be fine.

It obviously depends on what types of games you enjoy, but if you're looking for literally minutes of fun I'd say buy uncharted. Seriously, that is the most overrated and boring game I have ever played for any system. I'd recommend Resistance, Warhawk, RB6V2 (if you liked the first one), and a couple of the PSN games are very fun considering the price, such as stardust (I think that is what it is called).

I was considering buying a sixaxis over the ds3. At bestbuy it costs 18 less for the 6axis, and I really don't know if rumble is worth that 18.

Fort Benning has them in the commissary, at least the last time I was there (a month ago or so). Just find a friend in the military and ask them to take you onto a base, but I'm not sure if the US store even supports them at this point.

The 80gb ps3 is expected to be released in the UK sometime this summer, probably closer to the end of summer. It also is probably going to be bundled with MGS4, and it will def have a DS3 instead of Sixaxis. On a different topic, are you the same ruffryder that frequently visits www.jellyfish.com? Anyways, good luck in your search for a real PS3.
