It's a good game. As a new IP, I would even say it's an excellent foundation to build on. Having a single player mode, even a short 3-4 hour campaign is really a must for me to buy the sequel because I'm pretty bad at the on foot segments and can't practice the controls offline.

@onehitta323: To each their own. I personally really like the game, but Am not very good with the on foot segments. I have trouble with the wall walking and double jumping. Since you can't practice on an offline mode, it means basically sucking forever because there are so many experienced players that kill you pretty much the second you walk into the fray. I fare better in a Titan, and love the last titan standing mode. Still, I don't have the experience needed for the better Titan upgrades. All in all, it's a game many fans of multiplayer fps can enjoy. It's not a bad game just because you don't personally enjoy it :)

@Tiwill44: That's actually a good point. How much longer has the game been in development to work the dual screens into the game? I'm withholding judgement until I actually play the game. That said, it would have been awesome if traditional controls were used for single player, with easier flight / shooting challenges. Use the new controls for multiplayer and up the challenge for fight and flight as someone will focus 100% on flying, and another 100% on shooting.

While the death of Iwata and ensuing shuffle of roles in the company had a part to play in the delay, I'm certain the major factor would have been Platinum Games having too much on their plate. I bet the game could be released as early as mid-December, early January, but Nintendo elected to go for a more consumer friendly release window, citing quality issues for the delay. Kudos to Nintendo for not directly blaming the developer.

@nyran125tk Apple is going to push to invade the gaming space with a brand new graphics engine that streamlines its hardware to push graphics. Advanced controllers as cradles for smart phones are inevitable, and some are being released really soon. I think there will be a huge shift from console gaming to tablet / mobile gaming with the ability to connect the device to the television and have big screen gaming too. It won't mean the death of Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. I expect something like having to license Microsoft branded games to play on my mobile device. Like paying 150$ to have access to purchase games from their library. This might be the norm in 10 years. Who knows!

That's why Nintendo is having such a hard time! At least they offer entry level gaming for younger kids that'll translate into older players who buy consoles. I wonder what will happen to the console industry 30 years from now. I mean, the console and gaming industry has pretty much grown with it's user base and its disposable income, hasn't it? Given such a low figure of gamers under 18, what will the landscape be like when the 36 year old crowd stop playing? The good news for gamers, though, is the industry will probably have its best years in the 2 decades that follow, meaning, we'll be alive to see it!!
