@quinnd6: it’s a statistics question. How many players are turned off by it? Ideally, build the scariest game you can, have some options to tone it down to accommodate their level of tolerance.
@chubby170: maybe a question of not being used to it? Or the game you played didn’t apply effects correctly? I don’t need 60 FPS but have come to appreciate recent titles that achieve it.
@sebb: on the one hand, we’re lucky any of this is possible! For those who don’t have access, though, retail stores should strike some sort of deal and download the patch on USB keys and include them with the retail disc version to mitigate that. It’s a little archaic, but it would benefit both companies. Retail outlet gets your trust, dev gets a sale.
@sebb: if it shipped as a disc, having a day one patch means shipping the game weeks before it’s finished. If that applies to digital as well 🤷🏻♂️ I can’t remember whether a downloaded game iincludes day one patch or not.
@CashPrizes: it was hilarious. Not everything has to have strong narrative foundations in order to be. It was just regular comic relief, only in this instance the writers could make the joke last a tad longer as it was centred around a person.
