I would ask why would you be embaressed to buy a game, the only two I might have any reason to be embaressed where hentai games and I couldn't find them in any brick and morter stores. Then again I guess a full grown man might find it a little uncomortalbe buying a barbie game.
The SH series has always been *yawn*, Doom 3 and Fear were both prettey freaky at times but other then that neither games nor movies are really all that scary ever.
This was never an issue before the "ps3", it's also not an issue whith 360/Wii releases. LRP85 Sony does have the power to effect the release of other versions they pull the whole we wont licence it crap and/or bribe developers to give in. You see if 360 gets the title before "ps3" more people will go out and get the 360 version and Sony will lose even more support and they don't want that. As I said before this isn't a problem with 360/Wii releases just the "ps3".
LRP85 I've finished all the games I wanted that were already released and now I'm stuck waiting for games like Mercenaries2 and Path of the Furon which should have been done months ago but Sony is putting up road blocks for the 360 version.
