Story is probably more important than gameplay for me. It doesn't have to be a really complex story, but if it's done badly, I can't appreciate the gameplay very well.
[QUOTE="TheNextOrder"]Answer my question first. Is this not damage control? You'll argue that it isn't but deep down we all know it is. So stop the charade ;)

No. It wasn't -- what was I damage controlling? :| When did I ever say that review didn't reflect the score or that the score was undeserved, or how about the review was biased, or the reviewer itself was an idiot? Keep looking, but too bad you'll never find it. I only criticized the longevity of the game, which the review itself criticized!
I love the way it's like a cardinal sin in System Wars to disagree with any Gamespot review.
Nah IMO it looks pretty bad. The original Tales of the Black Freighter had a really strong atmosphere of horror and despair, and it was almost painfully slow. In comparison, the animated version looks like it's been framed as just another badass revenge story, complete with SHARK ATTACKS and EXPLOSIONS. Which is pretty much what I would expect from Zack Snyder.
On the other hand, maybe the trailer is like that to draw in the unwitting viewers, then it will hit them with the twist ending when they least expect it, causing a wave of suicides across the nation.
