To be honest all the books I've been reading recently are for school because they all got dumped on us at the end of last year. Fortunately they were all good. I read Pride and Prejudice, True History of the Kelly Gang and I'm Not Scared which is an Italian crime novel.

Also I bought The Name of the Wind because I liked the blurb. I haven't had much time to read it but it seems like a pretty good fantasy epic, if a little formulaic. And then I was reading My Uncle Oswald by Roald Dahl, which is... borderline pornographicĀ  but very funny in a dry sort of way.

Online play is horrible faceless garbage. Don't ever convince yourself that playing games online constitutes actual social interaction.

Square Enix trailers always look good, it's still just a generic hack'n'slash

[QUOTE="chutup"]Destructibility is worthless. You spend about five minutes shooting stuff and going "Wow, it broke into pieces" and then you're still playing a generic poo-brown shooter.imprezawrx500

that depends, if the physics are just there to "show off" then yeah its worthless but when it has use like making you run when the fence breaks or the hutt catches on fire or something can be brought down on your enimies then it really adds to the game

That's true, but I don't see any evidence of that in Killzone 2. It's all just "WOOHOO I BLEWED UP A PILLAR". It's pretty telling that in one of those gifs, the player throws a grenade which blows up a pillar, but the wall right next to it, which is apparently made of the same substance, doesn't break at all. Why? Because it's still just a restrictive, linear shooter.

Show me a game with destructible environments that actually allow you to open up different paths through the level, even ones that the developers didn't specifically plan for, then I'll be impressed.Ā

It's pretty funny that people want Kojima to make an RPG because he's so good at storytelling, but in actual fact he's already made an RPG and the story is garbage.
