I wouldn't go so far as to say trouble running those games and even those in the future. However, if you can sell it off and get an 8800 GT when it comes out, you'll probably be in better shape, especially after you score that 2nd gig of RAM.

Why would you defrag a drive you're about to wipe clean and start over with? The partition table is going to be deleted and recreated anyways, so wouldn't that be an unnecessary step?

GeForce LAN is back! I believe this is the Crysis release party, so you know they'll be giving something away. Last time, they gave free copies of BF2142 and all kinds of 8800s and hardware, so its definitely going to be a good time.

Like everyone said, be sure that your mobo supports it. Go quad if you can afford it. I had an E6600 (which is waiting in the wings for some RAM to reborn into a secondary gaming box) and went to a Q6700 and the speed difference was quite noticeable.

I think the real question is how can you spend so much on RAM and a HD and spend next to nothing on a video card?

Yep, these companies are only out for your money...
DeathStar17

Considering that it's their product, you figure that would be at least part of the point.

There are still some bad arse CRT monitors, like the Sony FW-900, but for the heat/power/space/weight combination, I'd buy a LCD.

LOL

I guess I shouldn't count the sheer amount of crap PCs that no longer work in my garage, else, that'd put me in the 6+ category.
