I have never played a game for a storyline. I simply play a game if it looks fun. To me, a story is just a nice add on, like a sun-roof in a car, but not necessary to have in your car to drive it. Gameplay is the only thing that keeps me coming back too a game. Someone else said thatvideo gamesaren't an effective medium in telling stories. I believe that was wrong, because I think the stories of Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil are very compelling. However, if the game can't be enjoyed withoutastory, then it is not a very good game in the end. Games aren't stories, they are games. I would rather play Mario Galaxy anyday over Metal Gear Solid 4 guns of the patriots simply because I get to play Mario Galaxy and not watch it, and that is why I buy a game...to PLAY it.

You see, it's people like your friends why people think gamers are stupid. Thankfully, most gamers love Metroid and we know we aren't sexist. I wonder if these same friends refused too watch Kill Bill or Alien because, God forbid, girls kick butt in those movies as well huh? Me, I like the tough chick who can still be beautiful. Just as most women out there like the guy who can be tough and also soft as well. That whole crazy yin yang thing you know. If your friends are worried about their manhood's by what character they play as in a video game, then it shows they are about as far from being a man as you can.

I suppose you could say that Disney hates Japan because they only have a remake of Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea with your logic. We have 6 different Disney theme parks in America. 2 in california and 4 grouped together at Disneyworld. So Disney must hate Japan and their money because they only gave them two parks right? Think before the next time you post.

I just think of Nintendo's transformation. From disallowing blood in their port of Mortal Kombat, to having a game in black and white that makes the blood REALLY stand out. This game wouldn't look good in color and it would loose it's edge. If they colorized it, it would look too cartoony and not like an adult graphic novel. If they made it with realistic graphics and gave it colors, this would be the most censored game ever. They took the right angle with this one.

Why do so many of these "hardcore" games and gamers need acheviments to continue to play the game. Maybe if the game was harder and enjoyable at the same time, the satisfaction of completing it would be far more rewarding. I think of Castlevania for the original Nintendo. Only 6 levels, but one of the hardest acheviments in video game history and my trophy was seeing the credits screen.

No, because comments like that come from the same idiots who look at Madworld and say "Finally, a mature Wii game." There is a lot of resentment towards the Wii right now. A lot of people who hate the Wii simply bet on the wrong horse this generation. They are so blindly loyal too a specific company that they would never dare ask Microsoft why would they make a system that breaks down, or why the PS3 broke so many promises and why they have a new version of their system every 3 months to try and sell a few. It is easier to mock the Wii in any way you can then it is to admit that Sony and Microsoft let the general public down. Instead, what you hear is that somehow the PS3 and X360 owners are just smarter then everyone else and that anyone who buys a Wii is because they are stupid and it is a gimmick. They are a small minority. Remember what Aesop said though. Just because someone makes a lot of fuss, doesn't mean that they are important.

FPS are what? A penny a dozen now? There are so many that they have decreased in value. The last great gameshow death match game though that I know of, Smash T.V. came out over 10 years ago. Madworld hands down.

This whole thread exposes a lack of understanding about Nintendo. I hope most of you know Nintendo is a company that is 100 years old and that they started by making playing cards, right? They are a toy and game company that has focused most if not all of their resources into video games. They have no interest in trying to make those devices and I hope they never do. I am glad Nintendo didn't try to force blu-ray down our throats too appease other people within the company to fill a quota....Sony. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should.

The jingle when you solve a dungeon puzzle and the jingle that you hear when you open a treasure chest, especially an important tresure.
