Pretty much majority of action games and every single strategy game out there.

All ranged attackers do not even reposition themselves to shoot AROUND obstacles...if there is a wall or an object in the way, they will simply shoot at it indefinitely.

There is no group dynamic, cooperation or awareness of any kind...in fact, they blindly attack through one another, mitigated because they're usually immune to friendly fire.

Magic is overpowered for two reasons...First: they do extremely poor job at dodging even very slow missiles and simply walk into projectiles and second: their AI aggro radius is often too small and you can often blast them from a distance. Entire sections of the game can be cleared this way...Proof: DS I, Tomb of the Giants.

They do a very poor job at navigating the environment and frequently fall to their deaths. This is actually a very effective strategy.

They do not use objects in the environment to their advantage like enemy AI in other games, like Exanima or FC I/II.

Bosses can be easily killed by summons by using them as distractions and hitting them in back, roll away, repeat.

What is "fair" about DS is:

Enemies rotate during their attacks like they're tied to player through an invisible leash.

Their attacks pass through walls and objects, while player is stunlocked at the same.

They ambush the player from corners because of very narrow FOV and borderline broken camera, leading to cheap deaths( well in Painted World).

Even weakest enemies can have far greater amount of stamina to deliver a flurry of attacks, far greater than the player.

Plenty of hitboxes are also broken, in particular when it comes to monster grappling attacks.

They have cheap and unrealistic movesets...undead dogs floating away horizontally like squids, shambling zombies breaking Olympic records with instant jumps, etc.

@bonzaibillie_99: Like your "eloquence"... Condescending shitting on other games somehow proves this review is unfair?

By the way, Dark Souls isn't difficult or requires any particularly strong mindset for tactic...it's difficulty relies on cheap gimmicks and unfair mechanics, instead of relying on dynamic and complex enemy AI design.

@Salt_AU: Ahh, "kid"...that favorite feint of superiority of comically, precisely the type of people who behave like children over the Internet.

If you knew the difference, "friend", you'd know that, at some point, constantly pressing the same issue and trying to provoke a reaction, over and over, IS exactly the main characteristic of that type of behavior.

Normal, ADULT person writes a concise criticism on the matter, accepts that other people may disagree and MOVES ON. Perhaps when you realize this, you'd be more eligible to wear that proud mantle of "adulthood".

But go ahead... why don't you cry some more. At this point, one could fill a lake from all of your tears.

@cboye18: Err, what? Kingdoms of Amalur had three or so useful abilities in each tree and few moves with a handful of weapons.

Dogma has far more active abilities, but Witcher has far more extensive complementery systems, rune smith, new mutagen skill trees, plus more enemy variety, group aggro, etc.
