I don't agree. As a graphic designer with 10+ years of experience, I can without any hesitation state that this is not sleek. Besides being non-user-friendly, hard to navigate and nonfunctional, it's also generic and derivative. As I user I can't find any point to justify the redesign. Everything seems to be worse to me.
Same here. The front page is cluttered looking and the site is not user friendly, add all the bugs in and you have a poor running website.
Yeah, I do not like the side by side different news update. The old site's chronological was better. My biggest complaint is with how completely non-user friendly the new stacks system is. I haven't updated anything in over two months, because it's too much of a pain. GS if you need more specifics, contact me.
This is a serious question. I've been REALLY unhappy with "stacks" (and it doesn't seem like I'm alone) and the silence on GameSpot's behalf is deafening.
It's been... months. Months since this update, and they're still as hard to browse/hard to read/generally all around awful as they were on launch day.
So... GS... is there ANY work on these being done right now? At all? Are stacks and their issues still a conversation topic, or are we all just wasting our time trying to give feedback since absolutely nothing has changed?
Agreed. I'm getting sick of waiting for the stacks system to be fixed. I'm not the only one that has been complaining. I actually haven't seen a thread yet about how awesome the new stacks are. I used to check this sight several times per day. I used to organize my collection on a weekly basis as my games inventory changed. Now, I haven't changed a single stack in over a month because it is such a pain. And my overall visiting has dropped to every 3-4 days. Please please please fix the stacks.
There's been a few topics on having zero game updates on this over the last couple months...and yep, still no fix.
As much as I want to give the guys some slack, I honestly didn't think it would take this long.
I like the new overall layout, but honestly the best part of the old site was the game tracking/my collection/wishlist section. Very organized, and I could move games around from list to list easily. Just freaking fix it GS.
I would like to see GS bring back the special and dubious awards. I liked reading about "best game no one played" and "worst game everybody played" etc. Those were so fun. GS, I know that I read a long time ago why you got rid of it, but surely you could find a writer or two that is willing to put together such a list/article. It was one thing that really differentiated you from other websites. I like the new look of the new website, but to be perfectly honest, GS is no longer providing a unique niche for me, and I have been spending a lot of time elsewhere because of it.
Just fix the stacks issue that everybody has been complaining about in the forums and most people will be much happier.
