of course, you omit the one glaring difference. the n64 was limited in its stubborn decision to cling to old technology (cartridge) while the ps3 is ushering in the probably winner of the nextgen disc format (bluray)

You know, I love how people on here react to objective arguements.
I hate to tell you all this, but the OP has a valid point.
You might hate the PS3 with all your little jaded consumer-shaded hearts, but the PS3 provides some of the most advanced processing and advances in hardware performance this generation.
It has many other problems that do not make it worth a purchase, and make its production unethical and anti-consumer, but it must really hurt to admit that the product you hate completely outperforms products that some of you love.

fantastic post

Which way? I can't feel more then 10 Gb on hard drive and who needs HDMI?
they don't see it your way. or they wouldn't release a new system to cater to the 1% "hardcore" market
Best snow effects in any game so far: Resistance: Fall of Man
Best Water / Ocean effects in any game so far: Lair
Best Glass physics in any game: Resistance: Fall of Man
Let's see what else the PS3 can conquer.
KeyWii
Methinks FF13 will utilize all those effects!
[QUOTE="Grive"]The assurance that Blu-Ray will win the format war.
Or sweet, sweet luvin'.
OceanLeet
It will. But I think Sony should have made an affordable PS3, then used the money they make to help fuel victory for the Blu-Ray format war on it's own grounds. They would have won both wars.
interesting! i think they may be doing it in the opposite order: packaging bluray in the ps3 to get a jump on the competition (which, admittedly, has worked well thus far in terms of bluray sales) and then turning around and cutting prices on the ps3 in order to catch up in gaming (which, should probably come soon as I don't think they factored in Nintendo and Microsoft getting off to such torrid starts)
[QUOTE="asmallchild"]both sony and microsoft offer a system with more than 20 gigs of hd space and an hdmi port. clearly, a lot of people want those two features

X360 elite is only for guys who use HD movies rental, nobody else needs it.

yeah you do, we had a long discussion yesterday, don't you remember? you were using your other account
i only have one account buddy. go bother someone else
Nah, I don't think the Elite is overpriced. And I think claims of them screwing-over early adoptors are stupid. People ask for HDMI and a larger HDD, but then complain when they get it?kodex1717
i don't think the early adopters were asking for any hardware changes
