lol...you should do what i was planning on doing before i got my ps3, i was planning on buying a wii, after all they have some fun games, at least they can entertain you while u get the ps3, lucky me i had the money to buy my ps3 :lol:hahaha...I will definitely consider that! I'm not too high on the Wii right now but then again, I haven't really seen/played with one. (I'm from the school of thought that says videogames are best played nearly comatose on the couch instead of moving around ;) ) Ultimately though, I'm a big fan of sports games and eye-popping graphics so I think somewhere along the line, I'd like to end up with an Xbox360 or PS3.

I started gaming pretty late and jumped onto the PlayStation bandwagon almost as the PS2's were coming out. I guess getting a system when it was so well-established left me with little chance of getting a lemon. Absolutely loved the PSX!
I however chose to jump to Xbox as my next console. I got one of the first generations and to be honest, it worked fantastically for a good 2-3 years. I've noticed recently, however, that it has trouble playing some of the newer games (it gives me a lot of "Dirty/Damaged Disc Errors"). Some of my older games even have difficulty running. I attributed this to the system aging and didn't really give it a second thought.
But upon perusing these boards, it seems the Xbox360 has had a few problems with its stability/cooling/noise/etc... Granted, these cases are probably a minority out of the many, many units sold but it still concerns me a bit due to my experience with the original Xbox.
Did any of you consider that as a factor when purchasing a next-gen system? Originally, I was leaning towards an Xbox360 as I enjoyed my Xbox experience but reports of the quieter/stabler/smoother PS3 are now making me rethink my decision. I guess I'm unique in that many of the exclusives won't really sway my decision. I'm not a big fan of first person shooters and I haven't really enjoyed an RPG since FF8. Most of the games I enjoy are multiplatform sports games (probably making me a fraud of a gamer ;) )
Thanks!
