They took over MTV and spawned Buzzfeed, but nothing important.

One could say they are very vocal on various forums and user feedback enabled content...

@mattbbpl: exactly, which is why [when I had TV, like 12+ years ago...] I would watch MSNBC and FOX News, to see how full of shit they both were, pick out the truths, then come up with my own conclusions based on what other people were saying as well.

The responsibility is totality on the listener/viewer/reader, but when that person lacks responsibility at all (i.e. they lack any sort of education, or objective viewpoint, or any ability to reframe their perspective, and so forth) it becomes all the more important for these news networks to at least try to do their part and meet us half way.

I'm not asking for anything to be perfect because that's impossible, and things have certainly improved since the days of ol' William Randolph Hearst, but people are getting worse and anti-intellectualism/education is on the rise in this country, and pretty soon people won't question shit.

I watch neither MSNBC or Fox News. I watch 2 news programs a week, Fox News Sunday and This Week with George Stephanopolis. That is it. Every once in a while I will read CNN while on a job if I have time, mostly for the lulz. The only news I regularly watch is local news. At least they report on both the good and the bad nationally. After living coast to coast and border to border, I have seen and watched how different regions relate or act with each other and towards others. The country has changed so damned much over the years and we never had such issues as we have now due to people at least respecting the fact that others might have a different opinion than someone else instead of trying to shut them up due to not wanting to hear it. Sad really and we see this from supposedly educated people.

Did she lie under oath?

No, she did not. She lied but not under oath.

It's funny how these stories get side-tracked by false equivalencies.

It is easy to say he lied if you pick and choose. What were they discussing prior to said question? The left always wants to bring up context. Yet they have the issue of context themselves. Funny eh? Let's see what the investigation states. As it is, Sessions is amending his testimony as he rightly should.

He was asked under oath about contact with Russia and he said he didn't have any. Period. That was a lie. That's not picking and choosing and if a Dem had done that you'd be screaming for blood.

I will say it again, I want everyone investigated, no matter which party and charges filed when substantiated. If you destroy possible evidence, you should be charged with such. If you fail to use governmental property as part of the government, go to jail, fail to uphold the Constitution or protect US citizens etc., face charges to include dereliction of duty, perjury, etc.

The current administration's definition of "fake news" is anything they don't agree with or that works against them.

And it's beginning to spread, both within that party and without. We need to stop this now before everyone wanders off into their own echo chambers.

yeah this is my fear as well.

pretty soon we are going to have dozens of different channels representing dozens of different interests and no one will be exposed to anyone else's viewpoints; we will just watch and be told what we want to hear.

Maybe it is time for a new version of the Fairness Doctrine. Rachel Maddow would have a conniption fit if she had to report both sides of the story equally.

Can you do it? Can you unplug for a day and put your phone down? National Day of Unlugging starts at sundown and continues until tomorrow at sundown.

It is easy for me, I don't Facebook, Twitter or any other social media with my phone or anywhere else and I don't use it unless I have to. I often go places without it. Can you go a day without your phone?

How? the media forces a narrative when they decide what to bring. A lot of times without fact checking or even caring about what is the truth or going with what is the "truth" at the moment. Google wrongful media accusations , and see how many times someone can be accused of something and then it winds up completely untrue. And some accusations will never go away no matter how untrue they are and the media does not give a frag and hides behind the 1st. amendment.

And again how is it supression when all that happened was they did not get a invite to a casual meeting.

Either you need to look up suppression or just realize that you are running of because it´s Trump and nothing else.

*cough* NBC and George Zimmerman *cough*

So several instances of biased or misleading news stories and all the sudden the media can't be trusted?

Not to mention that most of the times, those stories get redacted or corrected after new information flows in.

Seriously, you all can't be that dense into thinking that the media is always forcing a narrative while voting in someone who has reportedly stated numerous falsehoods all the while the "alternative" media reporting much more biased or even downright falsehoods.

It is just not one or two things. Collusion with a campaign, editing transcripts to fit their narrative, removing a previously reported story from their sites as if nothing happened after it was found to be false without stating such. This does not include totally ignoring a story and only covering it when it gets too big.

Is there any proof that Sessions was talking about the campaign with them. Also there is this. :O

So says a Senator on the same committee that Sessions was on. Pot meet kettle.
