Can you do it? Can you unplug for a day and put your phone down? National Day of Unlugging starts at sundown and continues until tomorrow at sundown.

It is easy for me, I don't Facebook, Twitter or any other social media with my phone or anywhere else and I don't use it unless I have to. I often go places without it. Can you go a day without your phone?

I actually stopped using my cell for a few years. It was so... relaxing not having people calling me all the time, not dealing with text messages, not getting sucked into stupid facebook shit. I work mostly on computers anyway, so when i step away from my computer, i dont want to be drawn into online bullshit.

conveniently I am going skiing tomorrow somewhere with no internet access or cellphone coverage. Leaving tonight around dusk, getting home tomorrow around dusk. Should be easy!

I dont ever mess around with my phone out of boredom anyway. I dont do facebook, twitter, or ig. I find if I have a book on me, the urge to use the phone dies.

Only time I do social media is when I take a dump. Granted, it leads to some nice 20 minute constitutionals, but I don't really do much on my phone outside of text and calls.

I've gone several weeks without using my phone due to training in the military, so unplugging for 24 hours would be a piece of cake. I'm not even counting the time before I owned a cell phone or deployments where cell phones were banned due to security reasons.

I hardly use my phone or visit any social networks as it is, even sometime going days not using them. So a single day wouldn't be a problem for me...

Social media is dumb. Avoid it like a plague.

However I won't stop using my phone as I need it for work.

I also appreciate the irony of using social media to promote a day without social media.

I like the fact that no one calls.

I don't even have a smartphone; just a $19 flip up phone. I'll ask the wife and the kids. They're the ones with the expensive smarties.

I'll tell em. But, they'll probably look at me like I'm a total idiot.

I had my phone in my pocket while getting my haircut and grocery shopping but didn't look at it once.
