I think the controller looks pretty sweet. If I had an Xbox One I would probably be cursing myself for not waiting to buy the second controller for multiplayer.
Still enjoying playing split screen multiplayer with friends every week.
Still haven't finished the second mission in the campaign.
While I've heard some great things about the campaign experience, this review being one example, I just don't have any interest in it. I loved Halo:CE, I loved Halo 3, and I spent the time and effort to beat the trilogy on Legendary.
I beat Halo: Reach's single player without really enjoying it. Because of that, I thought I would be excited for the return of Master Chief's story. I'm just not.
With Sony and Microsoft turning to software to make profit from their new systems, I'm wondering how all these different steamboxes will offer the same value with enough profit margin to keep them afloat.
I find myself enjoying brief moments in the single player, and then being tired of the game for even longer moments.
Killzone: Shadowfall is gorgeous eye candy, but the single player is horrendously lack luster. I think the trophy list says it all. Half of the community has finished the first couple chapters, but it starts to drop as the chapters go on. About where the wow factor wore off for me is about the place where the chapter completion rates drop off into the teens.
I prefer my multi-player with split screen and friends in the same room, so I don't think I'll be getting too much use out of Killzone's. What I can say of the little I played is that I felt pretty darn important to the flow of battle, despite being not all that great at killing other players, all thanks to the spawning system. I could actively help my team hold a strategic position or flank an enemy's by careful placement of the spawning machine while playing support class.
I'd be more intrigued with the system as a media device if I could access my DVR or utilize the system as a DVR.
As to gaming, after my launch 360 RRoD for the second time all my multi-platform gaming switched over to the PS3 and my 360 became little more than a Halo (+Netflix) machine.
That attitude carried over to the new generation as I eagerly pre-ordered my PS4 after E3.
Who's to say that I won't some day give in to have a really expensive Halo machine... but that's really the only exclusive IP Microsoft has that interests me. I'd love to see them create some new IP's or bring back some of the novel ones from their past, e.g. Azurik, Kameo, Gunvalkyrie, Crimson Skies, Alter Echo.
I'd say Panzer Dragoon, but its spiritual successor doesn't seem to have done so hot.
I'm more inclined to buy a Wii U at the moment because that's where all the interesting exclusives are hiding out.
That said, the most entertaining games on the system are multi-plats. I've burned through so many entertaining hours in Need For Speed: Rivals and heard so many great things about Assassin's Creed IV.
Resogun is the must have exclusive for the system.
As to the others, I really hesitate to recommend Killzone and I'm not really sure what to say about Knack.
The best thing about this console launch is that you're getting the smoothest and prettiest experience on the PS4. It really seems developers already have a firm handle on the system's architecture and that's very promising for what the future may bring.
