[QUOTE="l4dak47"][QUOTE="hydr0_32"]Must have had a heart defect. Two cans will not kill a healthy person. It's pretty hard to overdose on energy drinks or coffee. The real danger lies with caffeine pills. Mhm, she consumed 480 milligrams of caffeine if I read that article right. That is a lot, but the usual danger zone is around 1 gram of caffeine. But if it was her first time consuming caffeine and if she was small, I could see her getting caffeine toxicity. Oh, nvm she had this "The medical examiner also found that she had an inherited disorder that can weaken blood vessels" I've drank energy drinks with much more caffeine than 1 gram. In fact I think each can had 2 grams in it and the overdose is insanely high something like 200 milligrams per kilogram of the weight of person consuming it, way way beyond what the girl had and I would have to side with Monster in that case.I'm siding with Monster regardless. People need to take responsibility for their own actions for Christ's sake. Society these days is all about finger pointing and crying. It's sad really.I would avoid energy drinks if i were you. I read some where that a 14 y/o girl died of a heart attack from drinking two cans. Like one of the posters mentioned eat a well balanced diet and drink plenty of water..

processed is bad for you i guess, fks up your body[QUOTE="Bloodseeker23"][QUOTE="Fightingfan"] I never understood the whole 'sugar crash' concept.
It's all carbs, just continue eating carbs if 'energy' is what you're looking for. What's the difference between a 'sugar crash' and any other form of calorie deficiency?
Sugar = carbs = energy.

Not necessarily processed, simple sugars are the culprit in this situation, same as in sugarly beverages.
The processed is bad argument is heavily flawed anyhow. Whey protein = very processed. Except its benefits are huge compared to a slug of "natural" foods.[QUOTE="The_Zoid"]The fear mongering ITT is unreal. One can a day won't kill you, two won't. Just because I feel like crud = no one should ever drink them. Strong logic. You hear from somewhere that something is bad for you and it gets passed on, and on, and on and no one really knows why. Moderation, is it so hard?Optical_Order
Why don't you ask your doctor what he thinks?
No, unless you have preexisting conditions or are susceptible to heart issues, they probably won't kill you. But, hell, drinking a can of soda every day isn't healthy. What do you think energy drinks are going to be? The amount of caffeine, sugar, and other chemicals they put in there can really stress your body if taken continuously.
1) The health of soda depends heavily on context. Fat, sedentary person who is in a consistent calorie surplus? Probably shouldn't. Active person with good health markers and a normal bodyweight? Could probably drink several cans a day with zero ills to speak of. 2) The amount of caffeine taken in at one time can vary per person based on tolerance. Caffeine from energy drinks, coffee, what have you is all the same stuff. A pot-of-coffee drinker is no better than a stim junkie in this regard. 3) Sugar argument is only valid when talking regular and non-zero drinks. I myself wouldn't waste calories on an energy drink and always opt for zero varieties. 4) "Other chemicals" is very vague and a pretty popular argument against them. Except know one knows or seems to understand these "other chemicals".[QUOTE="dodgerblue13"]You can eat junk food and look good if you know what you're doing.chilly-chillTrue but you could also have the same endurance and cardio as a fat, 45 year old cripple.And this could be the case no matter what type of food was consumed. Someone could feel completely awesome off of McDonald's and Burger King, but sluggish from eating a lettuce salad with turkey. Personal preference plays a huge role.
