"But in all fairness I haven't played Bioshock or Mass Effect yet, so I can always go back and play the games that I didn't when they first came out."

Buy both of those immediately.

And if you haven't touched your Wii since Launch Week, (I hadn't touched mine for a long time either), pop in Galaxy. What a great game.

Rock Band though, I just wish it was more readily availible.

Well, forum post successful. It seems I've split the forum in half.

"See ya next year", from one...and "you didn't play ___, ___, or ____".

I did play Bioshock when it was released, and the vision and art style of that game I think warrant a game-of-the-year win.

No, I did not "blow off assassins creed due to forum opinions" to address that point.

I liked Assassins Creed, nothing spectacular though.

As of this moment, the games I guess I have "left" are, as posted above, Eternal Sonata, and Ace Combat 6 I suppose, which I've heard good things about.

I DO want to play CoD4, but with am I alone in thinking for something new, so soon after Halo 3? I don't doubt CoD4's greatness, and I'll probably pick that up in January at some point.

I'm glad I split the forum at least though.

Rock Band will be the way to go.

So.

Halo 3 is in our memories, Mass Effect is done, Mario Galaxy was great and also done.

...so whats left?

Call of Duty 4? Another shooter?

What games are there to play for the major consoles this holiday season? Mainly, is there anything other than Rock Band I should be getting this holiday to tide me over? Perhaps the time has come to look back a bit into Sept, Oct, maybe give Eternal Sonata or other hidden gems a playthrough.

Anything big coming though? I seem to be let down and deflated that nothing else big is on the horizon.

Suggestions?

hehe, I'm not sure about Too Human either.

But Mass Effect?  NO debate there.  That game is going to kick some SERIOUS SERIOUS ass.  IF you like your story-driven games....which I do :P.  But Rainbow 6 Vegas...I can see that too, I might give it a rent, but I like sometimes my shooters to be a little faster paced...nothing against Tactical Shooters though, awesome games.

Hey all, I'm crazy excited, as I finally have enough cash (thanks tax refund), to get my 360.  I'm a sports-game fan, but I figure I'm going to hold out for the '08 titles.

I'm gonna get Gears, Guitar Hero II for rockage, and wait for Forza 2 at the end of May.

And then Too Human and Mass Effect in August and Sept.  Good plan?  yay/nay?

Hey there,

I'm planning on getting a 360 later this week, and a friend gave me his Component Monster Cable with the 5.1 optical hookup...perfect for me, because I dont have an HDTV, but I can support component 480p, and 5.1 surround.  He said they were great (and he's a really really good friend of mine so I know I'm not getting screwed), but I've heard good AND bad things about these cables.

I know its not HDTV, but I'm sure it'll be better than standard 4:3 resolution...have you guys ever had very bad OR very GOOD experiences with the Monster cables?  I'm a sound junky, so I just want the 5.1 really :P.

Hey all, I'm planning to get my 360 in a week or two, and had a question:

I dont have an HDTV, but I got a 27" flatscreen, woo 480I FTL?  (hold your mockeries please.), but I have a wicked 5.1 surround system goin' on.  I have a digital coaxial input on my reciever, does this provide the 5.1 on the 360?  What cables would I have to get, and can I get a sound cable without getting the HDTV cables?  Is there an input on the back of the 360 for the big-ass Subwoofer cable?

I just wanna make sure I can get my 5.1 surround before I get this, to avoid headaches.  Any sound nerds out there like me, help me out!  Thanks guys,

Sweet, thanks. I hope I dont have firewall problems, or need the network key. But I hope it all works out well.

Hey all,

Planning on getting a 360 with my tax refund cheque in a few weeks (FINALLY).  Had some trouble connecting the Wii to the wireless router in my house, and had to opt for the USB connector into the computer.

Is Xbox Live easy to connect to a wireless router, even with some firewalls and stuff on it?  I probably need the network key, correct?  (dont have the network key anymore...got the router a few years ago)

What would be my best bet to MAKE SURE I can jump on Xbox Live with minimal headaches...I was thinking the wall-plug network extender, so I can just go straight into the Xbox (might be easiest), but what would be your guys/girls' advice?

Thanks Gamers,
