@jimbo6923 @SavageEvil "'M' Rated games should not be in the hands of children, and parents need to be held responsible for their offspring."
That is implying that the government, and you for that matter, should be deciding what our children should be exposed to and how they are raised. As a parent myself, and a god-given American, all I have to say is how dare you! They are my children; not yours and not the government's! Don't tell me how to raise them!
@jimbo6923 @WolfGrey How does this bill place the blame on the parents? If this bill were to pass, and a M rated video game were to be sold to a minor, the store would be blamed, not the parents. Once again, the blame and responsibility will be passed on to someone other than the parents.
That criticism makes no sense to me. He complained about the boss fights requiring strategy. If the boss fights didn't require such, i.e. you could defeat the bosses by simply mashing buttons, he would have complained that they were too easy.
Such a study would be an entire waste of money and time anyway. Let's just say that the results are true; that video games do increase violence. The fact that this is a free country means that nothing can be done about it. So suck on that, Christie. LET FREEDOM RING!
I enjoy sequels, however I do agree with him to a major degree. As MGS4 is my favorite game--as I'm sure you can tell--Hideo Kojima achieved such very gradually. It was released 21 years after the original MG. He took his time with each one. Some companies release sequels every friggin' year *cough* Call of Duty *cough* Some sequels build onto the creativity, while others recycle the creativity of the predecessor.
Here is one simple factor that is wrong with the politicians' hypothesis. A student goes nuts and shoots up a school. EVERYONE else runs screaming for their lives. So either that one student who shot up the school is the ONLY student there who plays violent video games, or the politicians' hypothesis is clearly downright WRONG! I think we know which.
