With the Zelda special edition having sold out quick, and me not quite NEEDING a new 3ds just yet, I can totally wait, but I was curious, outside of Launch (and it looks like NA people can expect 2-3 special editions, counting the sold out Zelda ones), how often does Nintendo do special edition versions? Or, at least, how often should we expect?

Obviously this is a speculative topic, but I haven't been paying a lot of attention to how stuff went after the launches of previous Nintendo handhelds (If it's any indication, I still have my white DS Lite that I snuck out of a Target BEFORE it launched, anyone remember that?).

Hmmm, maybe best to not make this "conoles vs. PC", ok? But, I guess waiting on the PC seems bit pointless to me, cool mod or no.

But yeah, as far as whether to get it for PS3 or 360...still kind of stumped :/ .

I mean, I played a bulk of GTA's on the Playstation, but I got GTA IV on the 360 and was happy with that. This time I'm around I'm not sure what to do, but I kind of want the special edition so I kind of want to preorder it while the gettin' is hot. And then there's a friend of mine who wants to hold out for PC because of that mod thing they have to enhance the graphics.

So I'm not sure what to do (didn't want to put this in the system wars area because I wanted to have a reasonable discussion about it).

Borderlands 2 doesn't seem to link much between the two groups of Vault Hunters, but by no means are the DLC in borderlands 1 only side quest based. (minus Mad Moxi's Thunderdome. Its the worst of the 4)

the Dr. Ned, Knoxx, and Claptrap Revolution DLC are all continuations of the main story, but not in the sense of going into the Vault.

If you want to skip the DLC's, I'd say you're fine when it comes to Borderlands 2, you'll just be missing some great DLC. If you do intend of getting them, buy/play them in this order; Dr Ned, Knoxx, then Clap Trap Revo. Mad Moxxi is just an arena DLC that can be played anytime.

Hobbsey07

Hmmm well I'll take it under advisement, I mean, I lost my save file from before too so I'd have to start over just to play the DLC's.

But yes Borderlands had a story! they left the main storyline on quite the cliffhanger. So the question becomes when you say the DLC's "continue the story", how exactly do they do it? They sure sound a lot like side quests to me, where I imagine Borderlands 2 continues where the cliffhanger left off....am I wrong in this?

Ok wow...seems like I am the only one then that has never heard of this game despite the fact that I was the perfect age for it. The music sounds very Megan Man esque.... I mean, granted, the guy has already met his funding goal, but it might be worth investing in his kick starter just to get the limited edition box set.

Still surprised that a game that is such an apparenty nostalgic classic with music that significant is something that never popped up on my radar till now.

Apparently this is considered one of the best games of all time? Odd, because I have never heard of it. For a second I thought I was getting it mixed up witjh the European censored robot version of Contra (the existence of which is hilarious by the way). The game does seem to have a pretty strong Euro following.

But anyway I saw the kickstarter campaign from the original composer about remastering the music and my curiosity was piqued.

I never really played the expansions. Now, before you say "you really should", I was just curious, were they very isolated side quests, or was there some significant story in between that and Borderlands 2 contained within the expansions? Based on a quick check it didn't seem to be anything special though from where the first game left off and seems like the 2nd one is more determined to focus on that.

If you have a capable PC I think the choice should be obvious to you. If not might wanna go with the 360 version from what I've heard.

valium88

Well that's what I would think, but considering it feels like this game is designed around the consoles, perhaps it may be one of those things that isn't automatically better on the pc?

And I wouldnt say this belongs in FW, this is after all about the game, not really a debate/argument about systems. As I said I own all three and am trying to figure out which platform it would be best on, and am also curious about whether the save file thing would work across platforms, or if you have to stick to one.

So, I was curious which platform Mass Effect 3 would be best on? I imagine PS3 would bring up the rear due to the game being developed closely with Microsoft?

Would that mean it's possible that if you played the PC ones previously that those much vaunted "decisions that you made in the past catching up wtih you in the third game" would apply cross platform between PC and Xbox360 at least?

I thought there was talk of the emblem reaching legendary status, I guess it was not quite so legendary after all ;P .
