Telling someone to get a life doesn't really refute their point. Nor does telling them to deal with it. No single phrase acts as some kind of undeniable argument-buster.
I don't even care. Argueing the definition of "art" is distressing. I apply the word to things created with "art" in mind. So if a person calls their work "art", I too shall call it "art". I don't care if it's shallow or crap or whatever. I want words to have concrete definitions.
I thinking making obnoxious noise is a universal sign of... something. It's an extension of cheering.
I'm terrible at words.
My point is that if people do anything noisy after sitting quietly for a presentation, it sends the same message, whether it's stomping, or crashing metal together or any of that stuff.
