Do you have actual proof that the Wii U isn't selling out, or are you basing that off of seeing it in a couple of stores? Because that would be stupid. The article is wrong. 360 sold 326k in Nov 2005. 360 launched on Nov 21, so thats a week and 2 days. Point is that the 360 sold out, wiiu didnt. 360's were going for over a grand on ebay. It wasnt until spring of 2006 that it became easy to find 360's, they were consistently sold out.
You didnt even understand what you were replying to in the first place. You cant say sales were better for wiiu when Nintendo had a larger supply. You could argue Nintendo did better at production but then again Nintendo's console is nowhere near as advanced for 2012 as the 360 was for 2005. The higher end the componenents are for the time the more likely the manufacturer will run into problems during production.

I don't know enough to judge for myself, but I've seen people saying it's about 4-5x more powerful than the GPU in the 360. Of course you can't really quantify power with one number, but you can estimate it.sounds good how strong is that?

How is that relevant at all? You can't take a PS3 game and run it on the 360 no matter how similar the hardware is. If you had only a 360 and wanted to play a PS3 game, you're out of luck. On the other hand, if your computer ran OSX and you wanted to run a game that wasn't available, you'd only have to install Windows in order to play it. The difference is that owners of PCs have the option of changing the OS because they have full control over their hardware. Console users cannot mod a 360 into a PS3, while PC gamers only have to insert a disk and install some software.but consoles are essentially personal computers... the hardware is all pretty similiar.
You can put linux on consoles afterall.
EDIT: and what if a console company struck a deal with onlive and got the service on consoles. These are all things to consider when defining a platform imo.

Consoles are technically personal computers by definition because they contain a microprocessor, but for practical purposes we do not refer to them as such because they have a different focus from what we know as personal computers.
I feel bad for anyone that bought the Bolt.On a related note.
